Day 2: State visit from China

June, 15

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary were accompanied by President Hu Jintau and his wife Liu Yongqing when visiting Rosenborg in Copenhagen. The castle is where the Crown Jewels are stored when not used by Queen Margrethe.

Visiting Rosenborg Castle
It was a more or less private visit to Rosenborg when the Crown Prince Couple visited the castle along with the Chinese Presidential Couple. That is why only a few pictures have been published from the arrival. The pictures shows two happy couples.

Mary had chosen to wear her hair light curly and in a simple hairdo. Quite easy to try out yourself if you like so. I was thrilled to see her wear a combination of red and white - truly colors of Denmark. Maybe that is why she wore that combo. It took me quite a while to identify the red dress, but it turned out to be a design by Diane von Furstenberg. Don't think we have seen it before, have we? She matched the bright red dress with a plain white Heartmade Julie Fagerholt cardigan. She's got the exact same one in black as well. The white pearl earrings are from Marianne Dulong and worn on numerous occasions. Her shiny red pumps really caught my attention. They are from Christian Louboutin. Really chic and clever of her to match dress and shoes. I also very much like the fact that she accessorized the look with an orange leather clutch. That has not yet been found.

Dinner at Christiansborg
Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik hosted a banquet dinner for the Chinese President Couple, Hu Jintau and Liu Yongqing. Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie also attended the dinner that took place at Christiansborg Castle.

After a day with a more classic red and white style Mary is back in the game with an overwhelming pink one-shoulder gown created by the Danish designer David Andersen. A true masterpiece. This is the second time she's wearing it. The first time we saw her in it, was at the wedding in Monaco earlier this year. Mary really gives we the confidence to wear a colorful dress. I am so inspired by her style when she's wearing such a magnificent dress. What's more amazing is that the she actually chose a pair of aquamarine blue- and diamonds earrings and her simple wedding tiara as well. Matched with a gorgeous hairstyle, I'm sure this could not have been done more beautifully.
