Congratulations to Queen Margrethe!

16 April

Over the years, it has become a tradition for the Queen to celebrate her birthday at Marselisborg in Aarhus along with her family. This year, the Crown Princes Couple and their four children stayed at Marselisborg to celebrate the day and the birthday-girl.

Many Danes also showed up to congratulate Queen Margrethe on behalf of her 82nd birthday. She was also celebrated with music and birthday song.

It was wonderful to see all of them together. Especially, the Queen was one big smile. We get it, right? One lovely way of celebrating ones birthday. You are surrounded by your loved ones. The sun is shining and the weather was warm. What is not to like? I think, the only thing she missed, was the rest of the family.

Princess Isabella caught much attention at Marselisborg. She was also one good-looking princess. No doubt about that. So was her little sister (and brothers). Still, my eyes were on Mary. I wish we could see more of her outfit. Maybe she will wear it again one day and we will get a better look. Nevertheless, I adore what she was wearing. Heaven and UFO No More managed to identify all of her new pieces. Like the STUNNING white blouse. It was found at ME+EM. Her beautiful coat was also new. They also managed to identify this as Goat Fashion. Think Mary wore simple black trousers to match the rest of the outfit.

I imagine her wearing either black heeled boots or pumps. Have you seen a photo that reveal this? I have not been able to track one down, but that choice would suit the outfit and be something Mary would do. In my dreams, I wish she would have chosen something colourful.

She also embraced the style with a couple of golden bracelets. One of them are a creation by Dulong Fine Jewelry and the other one is from Cartier. Two of her favourites. We get a tiny glimpse of a diamond ring as well on her right hand. This very delicate ring is from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Often she wears it with other things, but not this time. I am sure you noticed her huge white pearl earrings as well. They are also from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.

TrygFondens (new) Family Houses

Tuesday, April 25th

Crown Princess Mary attended the inauguration of the expansion of TrygFondens Family Houses at Aarhus University Hospital, Aarhus.

Back in 2012 the Crown Princess attended the grand opening of TrygFondens new family houses at Aarhus University Hospital, here. Today she was back there to attend the inauguration of the expansion of the family houses. These houses acts as home for seriously ill children and their parents and siblings and has been a reality since 2012 when Mary was present at the opening. She arrived to Aarhus in a splendid mood and was welcomed with flowers, smiles and handshakes. She was the one cutting the red ribbon with a fine golden scissors. After the opening, the Crown Princess was given her very own guided tour around the new facilities and got to see the Family Houses playground. Something the children proudly showed her. She was also introduced to a new interactive floor as activity for the children laving with their family in the family houses near by Aarhus University Hospital. Last but not least Mary met a family who live in one of the houses.

Though the weather is not as splendid was Mary and her mood was at the opening, I love to see her in something a bit more colourful -all because we are getting closer to spring. Without the GOAT Fashion coat her outfit would have been a little plain. But that coat just makes the whole difference! I'm so thrilled we get to see it again. Shortly after the arrival we got a chance to see what she was wearing underneath. Mary has matched a pair of black trousers with a brand new black and white floral printed blouse! A first sight I was sure I had seen that print before, but when I found out where it is from I honestly have to say -that I would never have guessed. The main reason is because I've never heard of this brand before. Jennifer is the one to tell me about Mary's new ALTUZARRA blouse. She embrace the style by wearing a pair of black and white cap-toe pumps from Gianvito Rossi, seen on a previous occasion before this, here. Very chic! Other than the shoes she wore, once again, white pearl jewellery from Dulong Fine Jewellery. Some incredible pieces I differently hope to see (soon) again. Somehow, this outfit makes me in a great mood. So, tell me what do you like the most about this look? Anything specific or just the entire outfit?

It was a lovely day to celebrate a wonderful queen. Like many times before, hundreds of Danes were gathered in front of Amalienborg to get a glimpse of the queen along with her family. All to celebrate the queen on 76th birthday. Personally, I have never had to chance to be there myself, but I bet it is a strong feeling to part of. The atmosphere seems great. Hope that I some day will be able to be there myself, maybe even take my own pictures. This little 'balcony ceremony' is truly something I hope the Crown Prince couple to will keep as tradition. Think it would mean a lot to the Crown Prince's mother - and the rest of the Danes. Around noon, Queen Margrethe then stepped out on the balcony dressed in the most magnificent blue suit. Shortly after, she was surrounded by her closest family. On big, adorable family. Think we hare lucky to have them as representatives for Denmark. I was especially delighted to see the Crown Prince couple's four children. We rarely get to see them at public events. And little Princess Athena - she's grown up really fast and what a beautiful little young lady she had become. After the balcony scene, the family enjoyed a dinner in each others company behind the closed doors at Amalienborg.

I am in no doubt sure that all of you noticed Mary on the balcony. Basically because of that amazing new fuchsia coat. She was a glowing star in that coat. Love that we get to see her wearing something this colorful. Mary wears these bright colors so beautifully. Spring is just around the corner and a coat like this is a great a supplement to her, already amazing, wardrobe. The coat is the only new piece from todays celebration, so I really wanted to be able to identify it. With help from Kate it was found at GOAT Fashion. Can't wait to see it again. Both skirt and blouse are reused pieces from several other events. Actually, she was worn the specific combination before. The combo was worn during a visit in Canada, here, and then at a visit to Germany, here. Even matching the outfit with that snake belt is seen previously. Unfortunately, I have never been able to identify where the belt is from. Do you happen to know something about it? Maybe you even recall that the blouse is from Elise Gug (collection: 2013) and it features a white pearl as button. The black skirt is from another very talented Danish designer called Signe Bøgelund-Jensen. I did not manage to find pictures showing which pair of shoes she was wearing. My guess would be her good old Christian Louboutin snake skin pumps. These pumps was do great with the rest of the outfit and has been worn before with this outfit. Surprisingly, I was able to track down a picture with a glimpse of her actually wearing the Christian Louboutin pumps. Mary had accessorized her look with Dulong Fine Jewelry earrings and a ring from the same designer.

Now there is only one thing left to say and that is congratulations to the Queen on her birthday.

Crown Princess Mary arrived to the University Hospital in Aarhus with a huge smile on her face. It was as patron of the Heart Association she payed a visit to the hospital. Here she was welcomed by const. chief physician Anne Kaltoft, staff and doctors working at the University hospital. The Crown Princess got a chance to talk to and meet the departments "Heart disease" and " the Children's Department". She met some of the children who are hospitalized with heart diseases.

In addition, meeting the staff and the hospitalized children, the Crown Princess watched a heart operation of a 14 year old boy from an observation room. She showed great interest in everything she saw and all the stories she heard. Like always Crown Princess Mary took the time to see, met and talk to the children on the hospital, eye to eye.

The visit lasted more or less, two and a half hour which is a rather long time for a royal visit. Her visit at the hospital was followed by at visit at Aarhus Academy for Global Education to attend the opening of new facilities at Dalgas Avenue near Marselisborg Palace. Here she was welcomed by the Mayor in Aarhus Jacob Bundsgaard and rector of AAGE Charles C. Hanna such as students in all ages. The Crown Princess gave a speech and the some of the students sang for her a self written dedicated to her. During the visit she was given a tour on the schools playground where she took the time to talk with four students with four different nationalities -Indian, Danish, American and Chinese. After a little chat it was time to leave Aarhus and go back to Copenhagen.

Dazzling in a bright pink Goat Fashion dress she really amazed me. She was like a star dressed in pink. I'm really happy to see this dress again in a new combo with snake accessories and a wonderful coat identified by Kate as Joseph. I have a thing with grey coats therefor I'm in love with this one. You might remember the dress from when Mary attended the Day of Research 2015, here. I wonder how she manages to keep up the great work choosing her outfits this well? It's like she never has a bad hair day or a "bad clothes day". Mary always find the best and most magnificent trends, take them and wear them her way.

Of course she wore her pink leather clutch from Carlend Copenhagen. As I mentioned before, she wore snake print accessories to this colourful outfit. We all know about her pumps. Python snake pumps from Christian Louboutin and than a little snakeskin belt from Balenciaga. Actually, I've been looking forward to comment on her jewellery. The Orit Elhanati-necklace you know, she has worn it several times at different occasion. The large black pearl bracelet is a Marianne Dulong and overwhelming beautiful. Then we have what I'm even more exited about the new ring on her right hand. It features a black Tahitian pearls and to me it look like the white pearl ring from Marianne Dulong. That's why I'm sure this is from the same designer. Do you have a close up photo?

Day of Research 2015

Thursday, April 23rd

As patron, Crown Princess Mary attended the opening of Day of Research 2015 (Forskningens Døgn) and handed over the Research Communication Award

Ufm.dk

For several years the Crown Princess has attended the opening of Day of Research such as she did this year. The event is more a research festival with the vision to raise awareness and interest of the importance of research in our society and daily life. Day of Research gives the opportunity to get closer to what research and science is. The Crown Princess was welcomed with handshakes, smiles and flowers at the arrival. She was given a tour around the festival to see for herself some of the amazing projects people had been working on to this very special moment. She also participated in many of the projects and asked lots of questions to the activities she was shown. It was also as patron of the event that Mary presented the Research Communication Award later that day on occasion of the project which was given to Professor and Dr Lars Østergård for his research in infectious diseases. Congratulations to the professor with this very fine award. During the visit Mary was in a really great mood and seemed to have a wonderful time.

Lately I noticed that many royals around the world wear red and pink. Finally we also get to see Mary wear these girly shades! Let us admit it, she looks great in her new GOAT dress -she even matched the event logo. Kate is the one we need to thanks for helping us identifying Mary's new dress. So far, this is the first time she wear something from that designer, but I don't hope it is going to be the last. She accessorized the new dress with a matching Carlend Copenhagen clutch and jewellery from both Marianne Dulong and Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. As shoes she had chosen her beige pumps featuring the red sole from Christian Louboutin. Always admired how she manages to match bright colour with rather bold ones. Makes both colours stand more out and looks their very best. I have tried it multiple times myself and it works perfectly. If you haven't already tried it, I think you should. A great little trick. Oh... and take a look at her hair. It is just so beautiful. Love how it makes her face more open.
