It all starts with the Crown Prince couple arriving to Jysk Musikteater in Silkeborg where the two hosts welcome viewers of the show. What happens next made me smile. Crown Prince Frederik act as host for a few minutes and it seems like he's having lots of fun. Meanwhile his wife enjoy the scene from first raw. The Crown Prince Couple's Prizes 2017 is everything I hoped for; everything I wished it would be. A wonderful show with great music, lots of speeches, smiles and happy memories for all the winners. The prizes have now been handed over in 13 years. Amazing how time pass by with such speed and power. Both Crown Prince Frederik and his wife Crown Princess Mary really seemed to enjoy the evening from first raw. Several times they entered the stage, as hosts, to present and hand over four prizes. These are the prizes which were presented during the evening:

// The Crown Prince Couple's Culture Prize, which was given to Den Sorte Skole along with DKK 500,000.
// The Crown Prince Couple's Social Prize was handed over to the organization DIGNITY along with DKK 500,000
// The Crown Prince Couple's Stardust Prizes were received by the podcast Third Ear and designer Cecilie Bahnsen. Congratulations to all of them.

For me it has been a true pleasure to watch the show, though I didn't watch it live on Saturday. So, I talked about the show and now time is up for us to talk much more about what Mary was wearing at the event. For 13 years we have got to see Mary wear the most beautiful outfit -do you remember this here & here? Any favourites? This year she was dressed in a brand new blue dress featuring lace details. Usually we are left on our own trying to identify where her clothes are from. Sometime I wish she would be wearing clothes with a visual logo at front. That would make everything more easy for all of us. But this time was very different, because the making of her dress has been filmed and was then broadcasted during the show. Winner of one of the Crown Prince Couple's Stardust Prizes 2017, Cecilie Bahnsen created Mary's dress. According to an interview with the designer; Mary chose the colour herself. When she presented Cecilie Bahnsen as winner, she proudly showed off her very own dress with a great smile. At the arrival we got a glimpse of her white Prada coat and brand new Rupert Sanderson pumps. These were identified by Heaven afterwards. Seems like embellished pumps are incredibly popular right now. She embraced a chic and stylish evening outfit by wearing her J. Furnami clutch, Dulong Fine Jewelry earrings and white pearl ring such as a golden Cartier bracelet.

  1. Wow it is so quiet when they arrive. I wasn't expecting that - I thought there would be music or applause. It must feel strange walking into a room so quiet and still with all eyes on you.

    1. I had the exact same thought. Everything was so quit and the atmosphere was unique when the couple arrived. I think it is in honor for couple.

I am curious about the collaboration between the Crown Princess and Ms. Cecilie Bahnsen. I realize that a video exists of an interview of Ms. Bahnsen speaking about it. However; I did not see the show which I assume was in Danish. Therefore, it would be lovely to get your take and analyst in English. Thank you very much.

    1. Well, Cecilie Bahsen is not really talking about the specific dress when making it. In the interview she mention the importance of good handwork and quality clothes. Her passion is to make clothes that last for more than only one season. Later I read in an article that the Crown Princess herself chose the colour.

      Hope this was helpful. Regards.

Thanks, this is good. Ms. Bahsen would do well with the Crown Princess as a client as she tends more often than not to lean towards the classics. Handiwork like embroidery, crochet and cutwork is very much in vogue of late: I am happy that these forms are once again popular as they are so beautiful when incorporated in clothing.

Thanks again for accommodating me by responding to my enquiries.

Have a great week and stay safe.

    3. I imagine myself as Ms. Bahnsen; with the Crown Princess at my side designing her dress. What an experience that would be!

      Make it a wonderful day.
