Day 1. Official visit to Paris

23 June

The previous day, Crown Princess Mary participated the Free of Bullying-Race - a project part of the Mary Foundation, here. A wonderful day. She kept the great spirit the following day when arriving to Paris.

During the day

Not much has been announced about this trip other than she was going to visit Paris; open an exhibition and inaugurate a new altarpiece in Frederik's Church in Paris. That is exactly what happened. Sunday noon she arrived to Danmarkshuset to open the exhibition Ombre Flore created by artist, Jesper Christensen. He was also the one to welcome the Crown Princess along with Torben Nielsen, Director of Danmarkshuset. The artist himself guided her around the exhibition. Few every gets that experience. To be guided around the exhibition by the artist him-/herself.

What a mood. Crown Princess Mary was one big smile at the opening and later when she attended the inauguration of the new altarpiece the Frederik's Church. The new altarpiece is made by Jesper Christensen. Apparently he was inspired by the Danish poet, B.S. Ingeman such as musician and artist, David Bowie. The royal house inform that the center piece represent the Garden of Getsemane in Jerusalem. Four years. That is how long it took Jesper Christensen to make this beautiful new altarpiece for the church in Paris.

During her first appearance in France, Mary was dressed in a brand new dress. It almost looks like a peplum top, paired with a matching skirt. The dress is made by Danish designer Elsa Adams, here. On several occasions she has made dresses worn by Mary's daughters. It is indeed very girly cause of the color, print and that white lace detail. What was your first thought about her new creation?

She embraced the feminine style by wearing color-matching pumps. They are from Gianvito Rossi, worn on numerous different occasions. Among others on her trip to Ethiopia a couple of months ago, here. Back then she wore the pumps with a floral printed dress. Shows how one piece can be worn beautifully with different clothes. Even the earrings chosen matched in color. Mary has worn these earrings quite a few times now, but I still do not know a thing about them. But they are stunning.

The little clutch is also still a mystery to me. On a previous occasion I discussed with you when we first saw it, here. Both the rather large diamond ring and three of five bracelets are made by Dulong Fine Jewelry. All pieces are reused. Then she was wearing her golden Cartier bracelet, and a fifth one which I believe could be from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.

Evening dinner

In the evening Crown Princess Mary was invited to dinner by the Danish ambassador in France, Michael Starbæk Christensen and his spouse, Giovanni de Carvalho. She was warmly welcomed at the arrival with handshakes, smiles and welcoming words. All three of them seemed delighted to met each other.

You see the three of them in the picture below - Michael Starbæk Christensen to the left, Crown Princess Mary in the middle and Giovanni de Carvalho to the right. I don't know much about what happened in the evening, but I guess they had a splendid dinner and a great talk.

Now we are talking. I absolutely love her outfit. The sophisticated combination of a white sleveless blouse and a red/white printed maxi skirt. Wauw. That is the only thing to say if you ask about my opinion. Actually we have seen this specific combination before. It was on a visit to Cap Town in South Africa back in 2014, here. Back then she attended a reception and wore this exact outfit. Well blouse and skirt. Also think I saw a white scarf.

Mary accessorized her look with large (and reused) Amrita Singh earrings. She first wore them in 2009 when attending DANSK Fashion Award at Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, here. This is, till now, the first and last time we have seen her wear these earrings. I kinda missed them. I own them myself and they are as lovely in real life as they look on pictures. Again she wore three golden bracelets (and a diamond ring) from Dulong Fine Jewelry. A fourth one is from Cartier and the fifth I strongly believe is made by Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. The clutch is the same as earlier. Ralph Lauren (collection: SS11) designed her chic heeled sandals.

Day 2. Business promotion visit in Italy

Wednesday, November 07th

-Another day in Rome-
Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary has already been in Rome one out of three days. Today the couple had even more places to visit and more people to meet. First they attended the official opening of the business promotion visit at Villa Miani. On that occasion the Crown Princess gave a speech.

The Crown Prince Couple are accompanied by 36 Danish companies during the days in Italy and at the official opening event the had the change to meet each other.

After the official opening the couple split up. Crown Princess Mary first attended the seminar 'Keynote: The Business of Denmark's Green Transition', followed by 'Ready for Tomorrow's consumers' and then 'The Transformation of Healthcare and Business Models of the Future'.

Later the couple had lunch together with the attending business delegation. They also attended the debate on the global industry agenda and a cooking show with participants from both Italy and Denmark.

Getting ready for another day in Rome, Mary had chosen a brand new grey suit. It features a tiny pattern, which is a bit difficult to see in most pictures. Heaven is the one who tracked down the suit. It has been found at Emporio Armani - Italian, of course. Love that she matches her husbands suit. Mary embraced her new grey suit with a brand new pink blouse from Hugo Boss. It has the exact same colour as her nail polish. Clever choice.

Much can accessories a suit. Everything from golden and silver jewellery; pumps or boots (even sneakers); clutches or bags. Mary has found her own way. She was wearing a pair of golden earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry featuring diamonds and Tahiti pearl pendants. She also wore her Orit Elhanati necklace with the twisted detail. Dulong Fine Jewelry is also the creator of the matching bracelet and ring.

Other than this Mary showed a light grey Quidam clutch and high heels from Gianvito Rossi. The pumps look both grey and black, depending on what picture you look at. But I think they are black. A simple and classy outfit that does the job every time.

-Official dinner-
In the evening Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary were invited as guests of honor to an official dinner at Waldorf Astoria in Rome. Many guests had been invited to attend the evening along the Crown Prince Couple. Among others attended several Italian and Danish companies and organisations, along with representatives from Italian and Danish authorities. All the guests were also entertained during the evening by, among others Danish Sidsel Storm and Italian musician Giovanni Cernicchiacro, who was accompanied by a choir. I bet it impressed the guests. Looks like the atmosphere was really good.

Crown Prince Frederik showed up in a classy suit, black shoes and white button-down with a tie. Next to him his wife dazzled in a new black lace dress and purple accessories. Kinda dramatic look. More than we are use to see. What do you think? What was your first impression when you saw Mary in that black dress?

The dress goes as a Dolce & Gabbana design. Either she matched it with a belt or the dress is belted already. I haven't found any Dolce & Gabbana dress with a similar belt, so I guess she added it herself. Lovely detail. Mary embraced the style by wearing rather large earrings. Do you remember them? They are from Amrita Singh and goes back to the time when Prince Albert married Charlene Wittstock, here. Actually they are still available. I have my own pair - they are heavy to wear but makes every outfit sparkle. Amazing piece of jewelry.

Other than this she wore a couple of golden hairpieces. As I first mentioned Mary has chosen to accessorize her brand new lace dress with a purple accessories. The shiny clutch is from Danish  Carlend Copenhagen and the new pumps I identified as Gianvito Rossi.

The Final Eurovision Song Contest 2014

Saturday, May 10th

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary attended the final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen.

Bt.dk

The grand final is here! And what better why than celebration Denmark as the host country of the Eurovision Song Contest to invite the Crown Prince Couple. Only two days ago, on May 8th, attended Mary along with Prince Christian and Princess Isabella the second semi-final of the contest which took place in Copenhagen like the grand finale did two days later. Prominent guests arrived one by one to watch the long-awaited final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 hosted by Denmark this year because Emilie de Forest won with her song Only Teardrops last year. The Danes haven't been talking about anything else for the last couple of weeks and it is suppose to be a major show with incredible special-effects. As some of the last ones, arrived Frederik and Mary both in an excellent mood. Laughing, joking and clearly ready to enjoy the evening together watching the finale live. And from the pictures I have seen I believe they both had a wonderful night, celebrating Austria when they won. Which of course deserves a congratulations from me!

Like the show was predicted to be this amazing show, something no one has every seen before I have to admit that I have been looking so much forward to see what Mary would be wearing at an evening like this. I do not think she has ever attended something similar before. My expectation was major! And I differently wasn't disappointed. A truly remarkable outfit she wore at the contest. With an outfit like this, Mary showed how to represent a small country like Denmark. She litteraly brightened up the room in her brand new kimono found at Rabens Saloner. She radiated like no one else! The kimono features the most incredible embroidered details, fringes and colourful rhinestones. I'm so fascinated. What is not to love about it?! She perfectly matched it with a simple black dress and her ostrich clutch from Jayson Brunsdon. With all these accessories I would feel way overdressed but Mary makes it work -as always. It's not too much at all. Her eye makeup was flawless and her hair was just smashing. Curly hair makes her look so beautiful, especially because of the huge Amrita Singh earrings you really noticed how stunning her hair is. Golden as the details on the kimono she added golden jewelleries from both Marianne Dulong, Shamballa Jewels and I’m Jewel. Wauw there are so many things to look at. I can't stop staring. And those shoes?! -glitter leopard pumps from Gianvito Rossi (Pre AW12). This is one fashionable outfit.
