Celebrating Greenland's National Day

21 June 2024

On June 21st, Greenland celebrate their National Day. King Frederik and Queen Mary joined the celebration and made a little note on sociale media with the words:

"Greenland celebrates their National Day today. On this occasion, we send our warmest greetings to the Greenlandic people. We both have unforgettable memories from Greenland, and we look forward to revisiting the beautiful country and the hospitable people in a week."

The post came with a few photos from the couple's previous visits to Greenland. Both of them dressed to keep warm. Mary was wearing a huge fur hat, what looks like a brown knitted sweater, gloves and a cozy scarf. Back in 2004, the couple made their first office visit to Greenland. Mary was gifted with a brown knitted scarf. I am pretty sure this is the one. The jacket named itself: 66 North.

"Find the Elephant - Experience Aarhus"

20 June 2024

Queen Mary attended the event "Find the Elephant - Experience Aarhus" in Aarhus. The project is by the Psychiatry Foundation - one of her patronages.

"Find the Elephant - Experience Aarhus" is an 'exhibition' of 30 decorated elephant sculptures located all over Aarhus to raise awareness about mental illnesses. The sculptures are designed by both Danish and international artists. End of summer 2024, the elephant sculptures will be auctioned in favor of the Psychiatry Foundation's work to ensure better treatment and terms for people with a mental illness.

During her visit in Aarhus, she met with some of the artists and residents from Enghaven in Horsens, who shared with her poems of own experiences with a mental illness.

Seems like Mary is quite fond of simple outfits these days. When attending the event in Aarhus, she had wisely chosen a blue and white pinstriped Bagutta blouse and chic navy blue Max Mara trousers. She first wore them at Queen Margrethe's 84th birthday in April. The blouse is from the couple's first day in Norway on May 14th.

Mary captured a wonderful outfit with a few (but stunning) pieces of jewellery. We all know about the initial 'F'-necklace from Halberstadt, but do you remember her beautiful Louise Grønlykke earrings? Well, we have only seen them once. In 2021, when the couple had a small chat with Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit.

Honestly, I have never really been a huge fan of her Malone Souliers heels. The design is a bit odd to me, but the more Mary wears them, I have a good eye for them. What is your opinion?

Denmark VS ...

These days, the Denmark's football team are participating the European Championships. Closely followed by the royal family. They supported the team with cheering words and a 'good luck'.

Queen Mary captured the atmosphere with a photo of King Frederik, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine ready to watch the game between Denmark and Slovenia on June 16th.

On June 20th, Princess Josephine joined her father in Germany to watch the game between Denmark and England. The two of them had a great time together. They even met with Prince William.

We have one game to go: Denmark VS Serbia on June 25th.

"3daysofdesign"

14 June 2024

These days, the design festival '3daysofdesign' takes place in Copenhagen. One specific, very unique piece of art is exhibited: a wooden dining table made from surplus wood. The wood used to make the table are Tasmanian pine, beech from Fredensborg Castle Park and 14 other types of wood. They each tell stories from near and far.

The idea came up when the royal house's carpentry workshop was to remodel the transformation of an old workshop building.

On June 14th, Queen Mary visited '3daysofdesign' and firsthand inspected the outstanding wooden table. Truly a remarkable craftsmanship.

I have nothing bad to say about Mary's rather casual outfit when visiting the design festival on June 14th. Love how she matched wide-legged soft white trousers with a new pin-striped blue/white shirt. Just look at those amazing details! The huge white cuffs and collar are a cool finesse. The same goes with the brand new belt. Stunning way to accessorize a pretty simple outfit.

Take a closer look and you will see golden pieces of jewellery. Of course, her beloved initial diamond necklace from Halberstadt. Her smashing golden earrings are crafted by talented Rebekka Notkin. The bangle is a reused from Dulong Fine Jewelry.

We get a slight glimpse of her shoes. I was in doubt when reading that they were from Prada. I studied the photo a million times and I think they are right. Mary is wearing old woven Prada heels. She first wore them for a "girls night out" with girlfriend Caroline Fleming in 2013.

Free the horses

07 June 2024

Queen Mary visited Karlebo in Northern Sjælland to watch when the royal white Kladruber horses were freed on open field for the summer. In August, the horses will be back in the Royal Stables at Christiansborg.

It has been a tradition for 40 years for the horses to enjoy summertime like this.

Mary attended the small event in Karlebo all unofficially. She was accompanied by one (or both) family dogs. She rocked a simple and casual outfit. She matched a red and blue striped blouse with new wide-legged jeans and her Seeland quilted vest.

Somehow, the hat caught everybody's attention. Yes it is true that Frederik has been seen wearing the hat some years ago. Since 2022, Mary seems to have taken over the chic tweed cap. Still no clue about the designer.

Her exclusive diamond necklace is from Halberstadt and the golden bangle is from Dulong Fine Jewelry.

175 years with the Danish Constitution

05 June 2024

Queen Margrethe and Princess Benedikte accompanied King Frederik and Queen Mary when celebrating the 175th anniversary of the Danish Constitution on June 5th.

They attended a church service in Holmen's Church on occasion of the anniversary, followed by a gathering in Folketinget at Christiansborg Castle. One part of Christiansborg houses the Danish Government - including the famous 'Folketingssal' (the Government Hall).

Truly makes me thrilled to see that Andrew GN dress again! Do you remember Mary wore it at Princess Isabella's confirmation in 2022? A year later, Mary was wearing the very same dress at the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. What year do you favor? - 2022, 2023 or 2024.

When celebrating the 175th anniversary of the Danish Constitution, Mary styled the beautiful dress with a new buckle. Personally, I like the original better. She matched the copper-like brooch with a year old custom-made hat created by Susanne Juul. Mary first wore this hat in 2004! Not quite sure I am the biggest fan of the color-combo. What do you think?

The fine box clutch is brand new. I have not been able to identify it yet. Apparently, many designers have a similar model, which makes it a bit more difficult. Her nude leather pumps are old ones from Prada. The brown floral earrings are still a mystery to me.

Her necklaces are very likely to be from Halberstadt and Julie Sandlau.

Presented with the Greenlandic Self-Government's Gold Medal 'Nersornaat'

04 June 2024

Queen Mary was honored with the Greenlandic Self-Government's Gold Medal 'Nersornaat'. It was handed over to her by the Chairwoman of Greenland's Government Inatsisartut Mimi Karlsen on June 5th at Frederik VIII's Palace at Amalienborg.

She was given the medal as a proof of her yearlong commitment to children and young people's well-being in Greenland.

The metal shows a polarbeer on one side with the inscription Kalaallit Nunaat (meaning Greenland) and on the other side a yellow arctic poppy and the inscription Nersornaat (deserved).

When receiving the prestiges golden medal, Mary looked amazing in a simple white button-down and brand new jacquard skirt from Lunatica Milano! Just look at the details. I absolutely adore how she matched two such different fabrics. Makes a wonderful outfit. It is not the first time Mary has made this combo: elegant skirt and plain blouse. Like, when she attended the opening of 'Copenhagen Fashion Summit 2018.' Or at 'Copenhagen 2021' in Fællesparken in 2021.

I love how she styled the outfit with old Marlene Juhl-Jørgensen earrings. Mary first wore them in 2009, when visiting Prince Joachim and Princess Marie at Rigshospitalet, congratulating them with their firstborn - Prince Henrik. Her other golden jewellery are from both Dulong Fine Jewelry, Halberstadt and Julie Sandlau.

Her glasses are from Gucci. What pair of shoes do you think she wore with this outfit? - my guess would be nude or beige pointed pumps.

Hjernesagen's 30th anniversary and a visit at Sct. Maria Hospice

02 June 2024

Around noon, the Queen arrived at the DGI House in Vejle to attend the grand celebration of Hjernesagen. The organization is celebration their 30th anniversary this year. At the event, Queen Mary also presented Hjernesagen's Research Scholarship.

She gave a speech before handing over the scholarship to physiotherapist and PhD student Birgitte Hede Ebbesen from Aalborg University Hospital. Birgitte Hede Ebbesen researches passing blood clots in the brain and the impact on less strokes.

Queen Mary also paid a visit to Sct. Maria Hospice in Vejle. She was given a guided tour around the hospice by General Manager Lone Jensen. She also met with some of the residents followed by a tour in the orangery.

I rarely dislike what Mary is wearing. Her outfits and style in general are always an inspiration to me. However, I don't really get why she wore the blue blazer with that outfit. Do you? Or am I the only one who's a bit confused. Like how Mary styled her white Baguetta blouse with linen-blend trousers and a chic belt. That makes a wonderful look. The blazer did not do anything good.

Her incredible diamond earrings are reused ones from Sophie Bille Brahe and the necklaces are Halberstadt and Julie Sandlau. Favorite necklaces of them all. We also get a glimpse of an old golden Dulong Fine Jewelry bangle - and a couple of other bracelets. Some I haven't been able to identify yet.

I am very sure, she was wearing her 85mm brown suede Gianvito Rossi pumps.

Presentation of the 'Léonie Sonnings Music Prize'

30 May 2024

Queen Mary arrived in Odense to attend the presentation of the 'Léonie Sonnings Music Prize'. The ceremony took place in Odense Concert House.

The 'Léonie Sonnings Music Prize' is the biggest music prize in Denmark since 1959. It is given to an international composer, musician, conductor or singer in classical music.

This year, Swiss flautist Emmanuel Pahud received the prestiges prize - handed over by the Queen herself. Congratulations to Emmanuel!

Wish we had many more photos from this event. Mary looked SO beautiful in her reused Etro dress! Most photos are just blurry. Why? She has only worn the dress ones before and that was at a private dinner at Wayfair Club Oswald when attending the coronation in Great Britain in 2023.

At the presentation of the 'Léonie Sonnings Music Prize' in Odense, Mary embraced the style of her dress with stunning diamond earrings custom-made by Dulong Fine Jewelry. These earrings go way back and comes with several different pendants. She also wore a couple of necklaces. One of them is Halberstadt.

We also get a glimpse of an old bright blue stain clutch from Prada. Mary first wore it at a private birthday party in 2015. I've tried everything to finde more photos of her shoes to tell for sure if they are old or new. Everybody else thinks it is her grey satin pumps from Manolo Blahnik. I am not quite sure. I like the idea of Manolo Blahnik, but I think Mary is in fact wearing brand new ones. In blue. What do you think?

Meeting with the Mary Foundation's Presidium

30 May 2024

Queen Mary hosted the annual meeting for the Mary Foundation's Presidium - the foundation's workpartners. The meeting took place at Frederik VIII's Palace at Amalienborg.

The Mary Foundation, Børns Vilkår and Save the Children cooperated to make the 'Alliance'. The Alliance created a new film presenting what digital bullying is. The film is a new tool for parents and professionals explaining digital bullying and what to pay attention to.

Mary looked beautiful at the meeting with the Mary Foundation's Presidium. She wore a reused dusty pink button-down featuring fine white cuffs. I have never been able to identify the blouse, but she has worn it a few times before. In 2020 and 2021. Looks like Mary could have been wearing white trousers to match the elegant blouse.

She embraced the outfit with diamond earrings from Annikat and a custom-made pearl ring created by Dulong Fine Jewelry. The ring has been a favorite or hers for many years. Her glasses are Gucci.
