Day 2. Official visit to Kenya
December 12, 2025
The Dandora landfill
Queen Mary started her second day in Nairobi by visiting Dandora - the biggest landfill in the country. Denmark wish to contribute to a better and more circular waste management. Today, both humans and animals are to be found at the landfill.
For her visit at the Dandora landfill she showed up wearing a matching Columbia blouse and belted trousers and rubber boots. The necklace is from Orit Elhanati.

Official events
Queen Mary also took part in several different official events during the day. She both met with the President of Kenya, Dr. Wiliam Samoei Ruto at the UN headquarters and attended a high-level event with the United Nations Environment Assembly. The Queen gave the opening speech.
When meeting the President of Kenya, Mary changed to wear a fine dotted Prada dress. It is a reuse first seen in Paris in 2021. This time she matched it with beige python pumps from Gianvito Rossi. About now, they have traveled the world and seen Nigeria, Belgium, Japan and now Kenya. A clever choice to wear her beige Prada handbag. Great combo, right?
Mary embraced the look with white pearl earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry and a couple of golden bracelets from the same designer. Her diamond studded bracelet is an Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen creation. The massive gold one is Rebekka Notkin.

Reception
TEKST
Queen Mary took part in an official reception hosted by the Danish Embassy in Kenya.
What a dreamy outfit Mary wore at the evening reception at the Danish Embassy! The stunning blouse is a design by Jesper Høvring. I kinda like the combo of the colors. The skirt is a reused - I guess it could be tailored, but I still don't know where it is from.
Mary matched the outfit with an old bronze clutch from Mulberry. I was thrilled to see her wear an old goodie like this. I'm even more amazed to see the peep-toe pumps from Christian Louboutin. I really missed these pieces. We haven't seen them in years.
Another piece I'm almost shocked to see is the custom-made necklace from Ali Al Awssi. Mary first wore this necklace in 2004! Her diamond studded bracelet is Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen and the earrings are from Louise Grønlykke. Seem like she had them altered. I like the shorter version.
