That weekly meeting

29th January

Yes, we missed a lot due to the worldwide pandemic that has been troubling us for quite some time now, but we also got so much more. Things we never dreamt of. How would have believed that we would get to see the Crown Prince and Crown Princess this natural from their offices? Even though we have already seen what her office looks like, I get more and more excited every time we get a new photo. Like this time, when she held an online meeting with Director Helle Østergaard and Head of Communication Bodil Liv Holm.

The three of them, were "gathered" for a weekly meeting to discuss what is next for the Mary Foundation to work on. A pretty blank calendar is laying in front of her, but that just gives time for something else. During the pandemic, the Crown Princess and the Mary Foundation spend a lot of time focusing on solitude amongst young people. Among other things, she participated in a virtual summit on well-being on November 26th, here and the Children's Day 2020 with UNICEF on November 20th, here.

Because way too many children, women and men live in families troubled with domestic violence, this has become one of the Mary Foundations most important concerns. A main thing of focus for the foundation is to break taboos and that is done by saying it out laud. We need to speak about the things we see as a taboo. A new study on Danes' knowledge of partner violence showed that more information is still needed, even though many have a good understanding of how complex violence against one's partner can be. That is what the Mary Foundation want to focus on next: break with the taboo talking about domestic violence so to help more people.

Seems like Mary has a number of different glasses to chose from. The first pair we saw her wearing, is from FLEYE, here. Beloved by both the Crown Princess and the rest of us. Then just about a week ago, she showed us a brand new pair of glasses, here. Square, brown glasses. I have not been able to identify them yet, but hopefully I will. Soon. Meeting with Helle Østergaard and Bodil Liv Holm, Mary wore yet a another pair of glasses, which we have never seen before. Wearing glasses really suits her. Especially, these new ones from Tom Ford.

We also get a glimpse of what clothes she was wearing. A striped knitted blouse. To me it looks new - at least the first time we see it in "public". I cannot tell more about, because I do not know where it is from. Hope I will be able to give you more informations later. I imagine that she could be wearing black trousers to embrace the style of this outfit.

Tell me, what did you notice first in this photo? - I caught her smile first. That smiles makes the entire outfit even more smashing. She looks happy and comfortable. That smile inspire me.

Meeting with Highl-Level Commission on ICPD25

19th January

I'm sure we've all missed her. Unfortunately, the Crown Princess is also getting more and more comfortable participating events from behind her computer. I look forward to when she is back in business as usual, but this will also do.

Crown Princess Mary participated in a virtual meeting with UNFPA's High-Level Commission on ICPD25. This commission was established last year with the intention to work for, among other things, better living conditions, for girls and women. She joined the meeting as member of the Commission. We do not know much about the meeting other than what she writes herself. Because that is what she did. Crown Princess Mary shared a few words on the event and a photo of herself from her office at Frederik VIIIs palace at Amalienborg.

At this meeting, it was discussed on how to secure that every single pregnancy is wanted. That every single birth is safe and that no one is exposed to gender-based violence. Not an easy task to carry. The Crown Princess admit it herself in her post. It takes both focus, commitment, investment and a strong will from everybody. The pandemic has made this task even more difficult and at some points also worsened the situation for many girls and women. She mentions an expected raise in the number of unsafe abortions and a disturbing increase of genderbase violence. According to Crown Princess Mary, it takes a lot more than nothing to create a better world.

Even though she did not leave her home, Mary was beautifully dressed for the occasions. I see a truly dedicated and committed Crown Princess, sitting in her best outfit. I always wanted a red suit myself. A bright red suit. Just like this one. We cannot see if she is also wearing matching trousers, but I like the idea. The amazing red blazer she is wearing at the meeting with the High-Level Commission on ICPD25 is a brand new goodie from Alexander McQueen. What a color and silhouette!

This time she embraced the style by wearing a black turtleneck. Do not think we have seen it before, but I could be wrong. Normally, I do not like black worn with such bright colors but Mary makes it work perfectly.

Many of you noticed her glasses - also as the only thing. I did too. This could be her "home office glasses" because we have never seen them worn in public. With a little help from one of my dedicated readers, Mary's new glasses have now been identified as Gucci. Apparently, they are Gucci's latest design. Do you like them? Somehow, I like these brown glasses a bit more than her other pair. They blend better with er fair skin and hair color.

"We all have the responsibility to help fight solitude"

23rd December

We have not seen the Crown Princess that much in the last month. Instead, she and her family have sent a number of Christmas greetings. Several of them, is as chairwoman of the Mary Foundation. Like this ver special Christmas greeting, here. The Crown Princess highlighted a few things from the past year working to fight, among others, solitude as part of the Mary Foundations mission. Especially, young people and how they have been affected by the pandemic, has been close to her heart the last year.

The pandemic was also the main topic of the greeting she shared the day before Christmas Eve. On December 23rd. How COVID-19 have affected many perhaps for the first time and how it may have made some even more isolated. She speaks anxiously about the responsibility she believes we all have to take care of each other. We must all take part in fighting solitude.

Her greeting was recorded at Frederik VIIIs Palace at Amalienborg - the same place, where the family is celebrating Christmas.

Crown Princess Mary also shared a few words as patron of the WHO Regional Office for Europe, here. She found it particularly important to mention the professional dedication that has been shown by frontline health and care workers. She look forward to a new year with even more understanding and improvement of the healthcare system.

To me, she wore the perfect Christmas outfit. Red is mostly associated with Christmas and it fits this time a year perfectly. The bright red blouse is part of a set (blouse and skirt) created by the talented Danish designer, Claes Iversen. He already made many outfits for Queen Maxima of the Netherlands. Mary first wore this set in 2018, when attending a banquet on occasion of the P4G Summit, here. A year later, she wore the blouse and matching skirt at a concert and following dinner at Fredenborg, here. Queen Margrethe hosted the event to honor those who make an effort for the community between the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Denmark.

This time, Mary embraced the style by wearing her pink diamonds studs from Hartmann's and a couple of golden bracelets from Dulong Fine Jewelry. It looks to me like she also wore her golden bangle from Cartier. An amazing combination of jewellery. A close look revealed to me that her diamond rings are from, among others, Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. The third ring has never been identified. It goes back to around her birthday in 2012. Maybe a birthday gift from her beloved husband?

The stunning diamond butterfly, is the Mary Foundations symbol. Many years ago she started wearing these broches and then a few years back it turned into a diamond brooch. This one. Maybe also a gift? Mary completed her Christmas outfit with a beautiful makeup and lovely curls.

Merry Christmas from the Crown Prince family

20th December

Merry Christmast and happy 4th Sunday of Advent from Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess. They send their best wishes and a Merry Christmas to all of us from their home at Frederik VIIIs Palace. Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent, Princess Josephine and little Grace also joined the greeting.

This year, the Crown Prince family are celebrating Christmas Eve on their own at Amalienborg and with the atmosphere seen in the video, I believe they are going to have a wonderful evening. The Crown Princess already shared quite a few pictures with us of their Christmas Tree, here, advent decoration and hallway, here. The family are surrounded by lots of candlelights, Christmas ornaments, smal trees and red flowers. I wouldn't mind celebrating Christmas in these rooms.

I love when we get pictures and video greetings like these. All members of the Crown Prince family are so down on earth and relaxed. It is our way to get a glimpse of how it is to live like royals today. What hits me every single time, is how much it looks like our own houses. Yes, few of us have gilded rooms and huge mirrors but mainly they live just like the rest of us.

Another thing I love about these more private glimpses, is Marys outfits. She always looks stylish when she is going somewhere, but her more casual style is also incredible. She embraced the simple outfit by wearing a cozy light brown cable knit sweater and a black A-line skirt. A great combo, right? Mary accessorized this magnificent home-wear with black tights, black ankle boots and a stunning green long cardigan. Wish I could wear such a long knitted piece. It is really beautiful.
