Day 4. Business Promotion in the United States

Friday, September 30th
From September 27-30th Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary have visited Washington and Boston along with a business delegation of 59 Danish companies.

The royal couple arrive on Tuesday. The final day of the Crown Prince Couple's visit to Washington and Boston.

Crown Prince Frederik was the first to begin his day at the DONG Energy Breakfast Event followed by the opening of a seminar on sustainability on energy and a visit at Harvard Kennedy School where the Crown Prince handed over a scholar on 250.000$ from Crown Prince Frederik Fund to Harvard University Kennedy School.

Meanwhile Crown Princess Mary attended the opening of the seminar 'The Drivers of Food Innovation in the U.S. and Denmark' on innovation in the food sector, where she also gave a speech on occasion of the opening. Later the same day she was present at the opening of 'LEO Science & Tech Hub' at Cambridge Innovation Center and she visited the Boston Children's Hospital. A great experience for everyone.

It was quite an experience for the attendance when Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary arrived to the State House to meet with Charles D. Baker, Governor of Massachusetts where the royal couple also enjoyed a lunch accompanied by the Danish business delegation, local collaborators and other representatives. One of the attendance who was there at the arrival is Sarah from Swedish Royal Fashion. She kindly share some of her photos with me and have given me permission to share them with you.

It has been called 'pale pink' but I'm pretty sure her incredible KITX coat is white. Kinda makes me happy every time I see it. How many times has she worn it by now? - two or three. Really classy, elegant and feminine. Think it looks amazing on her with the rather large cuffs, loose neckline and floaty skirt.

Radiant like a star she styled her outfit with a pair of pointed snake print pumps from Gianvito Rossi. Another interesting accessory worn on that day is the new green clutch. Because of the colour I noticed it right away. It is a two material clutch from Nina Ricci found by Heaven. Secondly I noticed the new long necklace and of course earrings, the diamond bracelet (possibly from Ole Lynggaard  Copenhagen, here) and two rings. The style really reminds me of jewellery from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen, which is why I strongly believe it's their design. Then we have a golden Cartier bracelet. And her hairstyle. Simply gorgeous and romantic.

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary during their third day in the United States

The royal couple spend most of the day together. First at the National Museum of American History Smithsonian Institution in Washington where they attended the exhibition 'On the Water', which was followed by a visited the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Veterans Health Administration is the largest integrated health care system in the US which treats about 9 million veterans annually. Here the couple was accompanied by the business delegation from Denmark.

During the visit at the veteran hospital located in Washington both of them were given a special honorary coin. Three or four hours later the couple appeared in Boston where they visited Guldmann Inc. Crown Prince Frederik payed a visit to Cities as Drivers for Sustainability at the University of Boston followed by a meeting with the Mayor of Boston, Marty Walsh. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find that many articles nor photos from the couple's third day.

Simply gorgeous we get to see so many of her old things. You do remember the blue and greenish signe Bøgelund-Jensen, right? Amazing how well she manages to get this dress styled in a whole new way every time we see it. She has worn it a quite many occasions in many different ways but I do not recall we have ever seen her wear this dress featuring the most incredible pattern with a cardigan before. But it looks really great, especially when Mary wears it as a cape over her shoulders. Clever. Anyone you knows something about the cardigan?

One thing I have learned from her is how well darker colours are matched with lighter ones. This outfit is a great example: a dark blue cardigan and rose patent leather pumps from Gianvito Rossi. Always a winner. To match the rest of her outfit she was wearing Cenius & Bach earrings and a navy blue Quidam clutch. Mary also accessorized her look with a two diamond bracelets (one of them probably from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen, here) and a couple of diamond bands from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen paired with a large diamond ring in the middle. So, though a cardigan is part of every women's basic wardrobe I think it's what changed her outfit to a winner outfit.

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary attending dinner

Around dinner time the Crown Prince Couple arrived to attend a dinner accompanied by the business delegation and other collaborators. It all took place in State Room in Boston. Both showed a sincere pleasure attending the dinner. It was in a brilliant mood they arrived last as gusts of honor. Both Danish and American guests attended the dinner, which provided a good opportunity for both of them to exchange ideas and opportunities with their own country's experience.

Several speeches were given during the evening and one of them was given by the Crown Princess herself. Proudly she talked about Denmark and the Danes in general with her husband in the front row. Crown Princess Mary captured everybody's attention with her charismatic smile and gentle voice.

The day started in Washington with a visit at the National Museum of American History Smithsonian Institution and ended with a dinner in Boston.

I'm stunned by her creativity. Mixing and matching colours, prints, patterns and fabrics recently. Think we have seen some pieces I'd never thought we would see Mary wear. This new dress is one of them. It took my many attempts to identify her new olive green dress, even though I didn't. But with help from Heaven and Kate I am able to tell that her dress is from Tory Burch.

Mary embraced her wonderful outfit with a drop earrings from Danish Jewlscph. It is not the first time we see them, but they caused me great trouble. But not any longer. I can't say the same thing about her golden filigree bracelet. She has worn it before and several ideas have been suggested. I haven't found it yet.

On a photo we see a glimpse of her shoes. Snake skin pumps from Gianvito Rossi. Hate to say so, but not the best match with the embroidered dress. What do you think? Mary was also wearing two more bracelets - one from Cartier and one I believe is from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen, here. She is also wearing a square shaped ring. I still have no idea where it is from, nor if she has worn it before. Sergio Rossi is the creator of her incredible clutch bag.

Day 2. Business Promotion in the United Stats

Wendesday, September 28th

Accompanied with a business delegation of Danish companies Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary visits Washington and Boston in the United States from September 27-30th. The visit focuses on among others food, healthcare solutions and the maritime industries.

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary during their second day in Washington

Early morning Crown Princess Frederik started the day with a run along with The National Mall, perhaps while his wife was getting ready for yet another day in Washington. This was just one of many events that day. Already a couple of hours later the Crown Prince couple both attended the official welcoming ceremony at the U.S. Camber of Commerce. Here the couple were welcomed with greetings and flowers.

Meanwhile Crown Princess Mary attended a seminar on health and human services and on food policy, her husband attended the opening of a seminar 'the Consultative Shipping Group's' for the maritime industries where he also held a speech. It was at lunch they met again. A lunch with sustainability as theme. This was for Crown Princess followed by a visit at the Children's National Medical Center and a meeting with the International Centre for Research on Women (ICRW). And for Crown Prince Frederik it was time to visit the Clean Water Caucus. Later he met with the Democrats 'Wip' Steny Hoyer.

I have to start somewhere else then were I use to. I have to start by commenting on her hairstyle. For so long I've wanted some kind of updo and finally she show up in Washington with the most incredible chignon. Am I the only one who lost my breath?

Gracious is the first word that cross my mind when I see Mary in her new white floral printed Vilshenko dress. Think Mary looks splendid wearing her new dress. Remember is from somewhere else? - well then you might got something right because beautiful Princess Charlene of Monaco has been seen wearing the exact same dress, here. Thanks to both Pernille and Lurdes, who told me about the new dress. Think the dress looks great on both women. Mary styled hers with a couple of navy blue Gianvito Rossi pumps and a matching Quidam clutch. And not to forget the dazzling Dulong Fine Jewelry earrings featuring blue pendants in the same colour as on the dress and the two diamond bands from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Simply beautiful.

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary attending the Grand Ball

After a long day the Crown Prince couple only had one event left: the Grand Ball at Smithsonian Arts and Industries Building. They were invited as guests of honor. The couple attended the evening ball accompanied by the business delegation of Danish companies traveling along. Also local collaborators, a few American politicians and some representatives from the Danish Embassy were present at the Grand Ball. Magnificent as it sounds, magnificent it was.

Photographers all tried to get the best pictures of the couple, who seemed to be in a splendid mood during the evening, where among other a Danish musician entertained the invited guests including the Crown Prince couple of Denmark. As a tradition the couple entered the dance floor first, here. I really enjoyed watching the dance more than everything else. Think I watched them dance four or five times.

What a coincidence. About a week ago I stumbled across a photo of when Mary wearing this gown the firs time and thought "will we ever get to see her in this dress again?". And then we did. Incredible. I clearly remember when she first wore it on a trip to New York back in 2009, here. Everybody went crazy about it. I was capture of its beauty. I still am. A quite unusual evening gown but that's typical for Mary - choosing a pattern no one else would. I'm still crazy about this Julie Fagerholt (collection: Spring 2009) creation, colours and everything. Maybe I think she looks even more fabulous now wearing it in 2016. The shape embraces her body beautifully.

For this evening outfit she styled her colourful gown with a pair of aquamarine blue Annikat earrings, black mesh Gianvito Rossi pointed pumps and of course her golden Cartier bangle. Did you notice the diamond bracelet on her right wrist? I have a theory. She has worn it quite a lot lately which really doesn't matter trying to identify it. Just to tell you that the bracelet seems to be a favourite right now.  I believe it could be a design from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen, here. Take a look and tell me what you think. The little black clutch has been found at Sergio Rossi awhile ago.

Looking at Mary, she makes me so proud to have her as representative of Denmark, but not as proud as Frederik. Standing next to his wife at the arrival, he looks extremely proud for more than one reason. We get it, right?

Day 1. Business Promotion in the United States

Tuesday, September 27th

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary will visit Washington and Boston from September 27-30th along with a business delegation of Danish companies. The business promotion focuses on the food, clean tech, healthcare solutions and the maritime industries.

Foreign travels like this one is always worth looking forward to. And I do. Unfortunately I haven't been able to follow the Crown Prince couple as closely as I use to. Still, I have really much enjoyed watching photos and video's from everything they have attended all along. Also I wanna thanks all of you who have shared photos, informations etc. with me. Now it's my time to share a few posts with you from the couples four days in Washington and Boston.

I assume the couple arrived earlier on the 27th before they in the evening attended a reception hosted by the Danish ambassador in Washington, D.C. They were accompanied by the business delegation of Danish companies. Specially invited representatives of art, culture and diplomacy were also attended the reception. As warmly as the royal couple were welcomed, they welcomed all the other attendances with a handshake and a warm smile. Seems to me like both the Crown Prince and the Crown Princess were in a splendid mood.

It was also at the reception Crown Prince Frederik presented the winner of HRH Prince Henrik's Medal of Honor. The medal was given to Annette Rachlin for her work promoting Danish design in the United States.

Terrific to see her in that royal blue jumpsuit again. I fell in love with it instantly the first time she wore it at another reception back home in Copenhagen. I wasn't the one identifying it, but YDE Copenhagen is the one who created this incredible jumpsuit. The bright blue colour looks great next to her fair skin and dark brown hair.

The way she styled the outfit with a beige pair of pointed Prada pumps and a studded belt (that could be Valentino) is simply great. Have you ever thought about where the belt could be from? Not to forget she also wore a beige Naledi Copenhagen clutch. Really a wonderful combination with the bright blue colour and beige accessories.

For sure you noticed those golden earrings featuring lots of dazzling diamonds. Recognize them? It is  her highly expensive, but overwhelmingly beautiful, Dulong Fine Jewelry earrings. Brilliant pair of earrings. Then she wore her golden Cartier bracelet, such as a chain bracelet from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Nothing new just old goodies. For some time I have had a wish: a few more updos but this time I adore how her hair is all loose. With shiny eyes, berry lips and rose cheeks Mary's look impressed me.
