Day 1. Official visit to Brazil

02 October 2024

A visit at the Amazon region

Queen Mary will be on official vist to Brazil from October 2-5th along with Danish Minister of Climate, Energy and Supply Lars Aagaard. The visit is to focus on the Danish-Brazilian cooperation on biodiversity, combating violence against women and health. She will be staying in Manaus the first two days of her visit.

When first arriving on October 2nd, the Queen joined a boatride on the Amazon river. The ride was guided to informe her about the regions challenges and possible solutions to combat environmental crime. Denmark has previously supported the Amazon Foundation, which fight against these environmental crimes and to promote a sustainable development for the rainforest.

Later on, the Queen visited reserve of Adolpho Ducke followed by a visit at MUSA - the Amazon Museum, which is located inside the Adolpho Ducke reserve. She got a close glimpse of the rainforest from the museum's 42 meters high tower.

What we have all been waiting for: Mary has arrived in Brazil where she will be staying next four days. When sailing the Amazon river and later visiting MUSA - the Amazon Museum, she looked great in a practical outfit. She matched a brand new Columbia button-down with Deerhunter trousers and a brown leather belt.

The Arc'Teryx boots were a perfect choice for a visit at the Amazon river - and the surrounding rain forest. Mary has worn the boots quite a few times about now. Also with a certain grace. In the same dark blue color, she added Gucci sunglasses to the outfit.

Her fine diamond earrings are creations by Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen such as the fine ring. In a way, her husband joined her on her travel because of the Halberstadt necklace.

Official welcoming

In the evening, Queen Mary was officially welcomed by the Gouverner of Amazon Wilson Lima

As part of the welcoming ceremony she was invited to attend a performance at at Teatro Amazonas - a teatre and opera house in the center of Manaus. The performance presented the the cultural history of the Amazon region.

I am nothing less than IMPRESSED! Lost my breath for a moment. Just look at that outfit. Sight! I am in love with every single part of her outfit from the welcoming at Teatro Amazonas. Mary was seen wearing a stunning bright Jesper Høvring blouse and a chick green maxi skirt. She first wore the skirt on August 21st when hosting a reception on board Dannebrog docked in Assens. I has yet to be found. Any ideas?

She styled the outfit with large golden earrings - a traditional Portuguese jewellery. This is the seventh time she wears them. First time was when attending a dinner on occasion of the Copenhagen Fashion Summit in 2014. A lovely match with the Halberstadt necklace, golden Aquazzura sandals and brand new yellow satin clutch from Prada. I am in LOVE.

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary visiting Mahatma Gandhi's monument

I truly had no idea what to "expect" from her, when it comes to outfits. Think I had something like this in mind. Summery, light and in powdered colors. Mary in that Olga Vilshenko dress is a dream come true. She looks absolute stunning. It is simple in color and silhouette, but yet elegant because of that delicate floral print.

Mary embraced it beautifully with custom-made earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry. Look how well their blue color match her dresses flowers! The earrings have replaceable pendants - some of them are here and here. We get a small glimpse of her magical necklaces from Halberstadt and the personalized Julie Sandlau creation. She also styled the outfit with a couple of diamond rings from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.

I am not sure I would have chosen the same Dior clutch to this look, but it could have been worse. I like the material with the flowly dress. She had chosen a pair of reused suede pumps from Gianvito Rossi.

The Crown Prince Couple attending Grand Dinner

In the evening, the couple attended Grand Dinner along with the rest of the Danish business delegation. Mary looked breathtaking! I feel the same goes for everyone else: Mary was indeed Queen of the Night. Right? The impressive asymmetric gown is a creation by Danish designer Søren Le Schmidt. Every single time she has worn it, Mary has impressed the world with her beauty.

The earrings are classy and traditional Portuguese design. Mary has worn hers before. Among others at Red Cross' 150th anniversary in 2014 (here). Think it was the first time she wore them. Incredible choice. Looked great with the golden Halberstadt necklace and Julie Sandlau creation.

Mary was also wearing quite a few bracelets. I am able to identify one of them as Rebekka Notkin. The blush pink knotted clutch is Bottega Veneta's iconic design.

... and - I am a HUGE fan of her "hairpiece". What a lovely accessory.

DANSK Design Talent -The Magasin Prize 2016

Thursday, October 27th

Crown Princess Mary attended the presentation of DANSK Design Talent -The Magasin Prize 2016 at the State Museum of Art in Copenhagen.

I have completely lost all track of Mary and her whereabouts and I am in no way prior to knowing what follows in her calendar. But so far I do not think I've missed something (thought I'm a little behind). So when I found out she had just presented this years DANSK Design Talent prize 2016 it made my day even better! After a long day I enjoyed watching pictures from the award show where Mary was the guest of honor. And what an entrance when she arrived to the State Museum of Art in Copenhagen where she was welcomed by one of her good friends Nina Wedel-Wedelsborg all dressed in a golden suit (!). Everything was set from decorations, here, to promient invited guests. Pefectly for this to become a wonderful evening. And when Denmark's biggest design talent was about to be presented, entered the Crown Princess the stage along with a couple of others to be one of the first to congratulate Cecilie Bahnsen when she won. I really want to send her a major congratulations and well done! Because this is not just some prize, it's one of the most prestigious to win. So CONGRATULATIONS Cecilie with the title as the biggest design talent 2016.

Oh... and just another thing; I want to remind you about the Crown Prince couple's wedding anniversary. It's very soon and we don't have that much time left, so let me know if you have the worlds best idea how to celebrate this lovely couple here on the blog. Don't hasitate to share what you have in mind. I really look forward to hear all your great ideas!

Fashion events always means magnificent outfits and award show on Thursday was no exception. Lost of prominent guests were invited dressed in their finest outfits, including the guest of honor who arrived as the last one. Like a godess was Mary wearing a brand new, almost organic evening gown in the most wonderful dark purple colour. It features long sheer puffy sleeves, a square neckline, a drop back, florlength skirt and a metallic belt embracing her beautiful silhouette. Thought it would be one of those dresses we would never find out who created, but only a few days after the mystery was solved by... the designer herself on Instagram. It is the talented Stine Goya who created this piece of magic. She did an amazing job with Mary's dress. Wonder how it is to design a dress Mary will one day wear? Surprisingly she had chosen a very colourful and ethnic printed clutch. No idea who made it but it differnetly caught my attention right away. Perfectly matching the golden belt she'd style the rest of her outfit with traditional portugess golden earrings sold by Alma e Coraco, a Cartier bracelet such as another chain bracelet from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen featuring a few drops pendants. I also see a rather large ring on her right hand and I think it could be this one, here. Last thing left is what pair of shoes she might have chosen to wear with just an elegant dress? Think I have the answer -burgundy suede pumps from Gianvito Rossi. I'm completely overwhelmed by hair and makeup. Simply stunning!
