Prince Vincent & Princess Josephine's Confirmation
April 18th, 2026
We have all been waiting in excitement for this day. Especially, the royal twins must have waited impatiently for this day to come. On April 18th, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine enjoyed a wonderful day when getting confirmed in Fredensborg Palace Church.
The ceremony and following reception was held in private. Yet the royal couple chose to share both photos and videos from the ceremony. Official photos were also taken prior to the confirmation.
Of course the entire family were gathered at Fredensborg Palace. The sames goes for the twins' godparents. Both have six godparents.
His onkel John Stuart Donaldson, King Felipe of Spain, Caroline Heering (friend of Mary's), Prince Gustav of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, Count Michael Ahlefeldt-Laurvig-Bille, and Baroness Helle Reedtz-Thott (also a close girlfriend of Mary's) are Prince Vincent's godparents.
Prince Josephine's godparents are her aunt Princess Marie, Birgitte Handwerk (close friend of Mary), aunt Patricia Bailey, the Duke of Castro, Count Bendt Wedell, and Josephine Rechner.
After the ceremony, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine gave a short interview to the press and was photographed with their family outside Fredensborg Palace.
Once again, Mary was dressed in navy blue. Just like when Crown Prince Christian was confirmed in 2021. I do like a good-old-navy outfit but I cannot deny that I adored when she wore some colors for Princess Isabella's confirmation in 2022. Navy blue is the safe choice but I love it when she surprises us in colors and prints. She need to bring that time back.
Her new suit is from Claire Mischevani. Though it is very simple and plain, the detailing are exquisite! Just look at the sleeves and gatherings around the chest/neck. This is what makes the suit perfect for the event. She styled it with a headpiece created by Danish milliner Susanne Juul. Do you recognize it? Yes, you're right. She wore it at Crown Prince Christian's confirmation five years ago.
Mary matched the beautiful navy blue suit with the stunning flood sapphire brooch and diamond earrings that once belonged to Anne of Orange. The clutch is a reuse as well. It is from 1602 and was first worn in Paris in 2019. She topped of the polished look with leather pumps from Gianvito Rossi.

This is indeed also a day of celebrating family which is why I'd like to make a little comment of the two princesses as well. Beautiful Princess Isabella looked absolutely smashing in her brand new green suit! It is custom-made by tailor and designer Søren Le Schmidt. He has made quite a few masterpieces to Mary too. Isabella styled her elegant suit with one of Mary's old headpieces created by Susanne Juul and Prada pumps. The fine brooch was a christening gift from her grandmother.
Girl of the day: Princess Josephine. She had chosen to capture the day wearing a tailored Birgit Hallstein blouse and a Zimmermann skirt featuring the most incredible small flowers! She accessorized her memorable outfit with white pearl earrings from Julie Sandlau and a matching necklace. A close look revealed her wearing her mother's Cenius & Bach ring. Her shoes have been identified as Unisa.
