"Young Friends of Nature"

January 16, 2026

Queen Mary visited Amager Nature Center to learn more about the project "Young Friends of Nature" - a project by SIND - the Danish Association for Mental Health. Queen Mary has been patron for SIND since 2004.

Chairwoman of SIND Mia Kristina Hansen, biologist and nature guide at the Danish Nature Agency Jes Aagaard and project manager of "Young Friends of Nature" Rikke Kristiansen all joined the Queen for a walk to discuss how strong a resource nature can be to young people's health and well-being.

I always loved how well Mary blend ind and switch from fine dresses to outdoor clothing's. Just yesterday, she accompanied Queen Margrethe at the reopening of the Court Theatre wearing high heels and diamond jewellery. Today, she jumped right into olive green Laksen trousers and a matching Laksen jacket.

Her Salomon boots were a clever choice for the occasions such as a knitted beanie and turtleneck jumper. She blended in like she was just. member of the group. No fancy clothes, flower girls or waving flags. Just a dedicated patron of mental health and well-being.

Reopening of the Court Theatre

January 15, 2026

Two Queen's on duty. Queen Mary and Queen Margrethe accompanied each other for the reopening of the Court Theatre in Copenhagen. The theatre was first opened in 1767 which makes it the oldest working theatre in Denmark. It has been under renovation for the last five years.

I adore velvet! I love the combination of navy blue and red but somehow I wish the print was on satin. What was your first thought? Nevertheless, it is indeed a beautiful dress. It is a new addition of Saloni. Truly in love with the neckline. Queen Margrethe also looked stunning in her bright purple dress. She always as Queen.

She has been very fond of wearing old jewellery inherited from royal women. At the reopening, Mary stunned wearing earrings and a diamond brooch that once belonged to Princess Caroline. Look closer and you'll see a couple of Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen rings.

I really missed those blue satin pumps from Gianvito Rossi. Everything about them are perfect. The clutch is a custom-made Carlend Copenhagen creation.

"Inside the walls"

January 14, 2026

They play "Inside the Walls" by Henri Nathansens was first performed in 1912 on the Old Stage at The Royal Theatre. Since then it has been performed more than 500 times.

On Wednesday evening, Queen Mary was invited to watch the famous play. Actress Fridamarie B. Cauchi welcomed the Queen when she arrived to the repremiere.

Anyone other than me who adore her purple velvet suit? The fabric and color takes it to a completely other level. It is the first time she wears it with a black blouse. This one is new and from Prada. I actually really like the sheer black blouse with the suit.

Mary matched the embellished blouse with suede rivet pumps from Gianvito Rossi and a Ralph Lauren clutch. We hadn't seen the clutch for years when she wore it again on December 15th 2025. Many of you didn't know about. I was able to identify it quite a few years ago but all by accident.

The dusty rose diamond earrings and rather huge amethyst ring were a wonderful addition to the rest of her outfit.

Visiting the Heart Association

January 13, 2026

Queen Mary was warmly welcomed by CEO Morten Ørsted-Rasmussen and Head of the Heart Association's health services Louise Svarre Jakobsen when visiting the Heart Association. The two of them introduced their patron to the associations new strategy to strengthen prevention.

In relation, she also met with consultants from Hjertelinjen and the honor of meeting with three patients living with a heart defect. They shared their personal experiences with her.

The Queen has been patron for the Heart Association since 2005.

It is no secret that Mary has become very fond of suits the last 3 or 4 years. She wears them in many colors - black, white, blue and red. This green one from Massimo Dutti has become a personal favorite of hers. This time she matched it with a fine turtleneck jumper. Perfect for the cold weather we have in Denmark right now.

Mary chose to accessorize the suit with a green snakeskin belt. Did you know that is goes back to round 2009? I have never been able to identify it but maybe one day. The beautiful green emerald ring is crafted by Dulong Fine Jewelry such as the other two golden rings. I kinda like the combo of rings.

That black Bottega Veneta bag has always been one of her favorites since 2008. We haven't seen it much in a few years. Looked great with the black suede boots from Gianvito Rossi.

New Year Reception

- Christiansborg

January 06, 2026

King Frederik and Queen Mary hosted their final New Year Reception at Christiansborg in Copenhagen. They were driven in the Golden Coach from Amalienborg to Christiansborg. The coach was escorted by the Guard Hussar Regiment's Mounted Squadron.

The reception was hosted for Officers from the Defence and Danish Emergency Management Agency. Representative from the public sector, selected groups with noble and honorary titles, national organizations and royal patronages were also invited to the reception.

Seems like Mary is fond of golden outfits this New Year. For the reception at Christiansborg she had chosen a reused golden Teri Jon by Rickie Freemann gown. Mary first wore the gown for an official dinner in Katuaq, Greenland in 2024. Her fine white wool-blend coat is from JOSEPH.

She embraced the stunning gown with a number of exclusive pieces of jewellery. Like the diamond earrings. They once belonged to Anne of Orange. The beautiful brooch is actually Queen Louise's engagement bracelet. I am sure you noticed the incredible golden bracelet. It was an engagement present from King Frederik VIII to his future wife Queen Lovisa.

The fine clutch is a reuse as well but I have never been able to identify it. Her dusty rose suede pointed pumps are from Gianvito Rossi. What an outfit!

King Frederik and Queen Mary hosted three New Year Reception at Christians VII's Palace, Christian VIII's Palace and Christiansborg.

The first one was in honor of the Justices of the Supreme Court and the officer corps of the Royal Life Guard and Guard Hussar Regiment. Then followed a reception at Christian VIII's Palace for mayors and regional council chairmen.

Later that day, the royal couple hosted the third New Year Reception for the diplomatic corps' heads of mission, heads of reception from the Faroe Islands and Greenland, and side-accredited ambassadors. All spouses were also invited to the reception at Christiansborg.

The first thing that came to me when I saw Mary in that new blue velvet suit was Queen Margrethe. She loved to wear a specific blue set when she used to host the New Year receptions. It also reminded me of her stunning midnight-blue gown worn in 2006 for the New Year's Eve Banquet. Her beautiful new suit is tailored by talented Jesper Høvring. The color looks good on her!

Mary embraced the smashing velvet with white pearl earrings belonging to the Danish Pearl Poiré Parure. The pearl ring matched perfectly. It is mastered by Dulong Fine Jewelry. I love that she chose a clutch is the same color as the rest of her outfit but I'm not sure the Quidam leather clutch was the right one. What do you think? A bit too plain for the occasion.

I am not able to identify her shoes from the photos I have seen. Looks like a simple pair of round-toed suede pumps worn with thick black tights.

New Year's Eve Banquet

January 01, 2026

The New Year's Eve Banquet it the most prestiges evening of them all. This is the second time King Frederik and Queen Mary host the overwhelming banquet at Amalienborg. They enjoyed the evening with, among others, representatives from the Danish Government who were all dressed in their finest clothing's and orders.

Crown Prince Christian, Queen Margrethe, Prince Joachim, Princess Marie and Princess Benedikte also attended the magical New Year's Eve Banquet.

Mary's golden gown was just as magical as the banquet! The gown is a creation by Jesper Høvring. It goes back to 2016 and was first worn on a new portrait of her by photographer Marco Grob. Since then, the gown has been altered a number of times. It was first altered in 2022 in honor of Queen Margrethe's 50th anniversary as Queen of Denmark. Then again in 2024 and now for the banquet. I'm curious to hear which one you favor. The beautiful lace-work is tailored by Lasse Spangenberg.

Her shiny tiara is the altered rose-cut diamond necklace belonging to Queen Lovisa. Mary had it created into this stunning tiara in 2024. It hadn't been worn for more than 100 years when Mary brought back its shine. The stunning diamond earrings are pear-shaped pendants from the Danish Crown Diamond Parure paired with studs inherited from Queen Juliane Marie.

She accessorized the beautiful evening outfit with a reused Judith Leiber clutch and satin pumps from Gianvito Rossi.

Christmas church service

December 24, 2025

Christmas Eve

King Frederik and Queen Mary were accompanied by all four children when attended Christmas church service. Usually, they attended these Christmas church services at Aarhus Cathedral but this year the family enjoyed the evening at Vor Frue church in Copenhagen.

Mary looked great in her stunning orange Max Mara coat! Love it when she wears colorful clothings like this beautiful coat. Mary first wore the coat when visiting Holstebro to celebrate the city's 750th anniversary in 2024. We even had a glimpse of what she was wearing underneath. Turns out to be her Oscar de la Renta dress. It is the same dress that she wore on Christmas Eve in 2021.

The elegant white pearl earrings are rather new ones from Dulong Fine Jewelry but she already worn a number of times. Her black Mulberry handbag was a great addition to the classy outfit. The Prada boots we haven't seen in quite awhile. I love that she bring back all these old accessories.

Christmas Day

King Frederik and Queen Mary also attended a church service on Christmas Day. The church service took place at Vor Frue Church in Copenhagen. Both Crown Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine accompanied their parents.

Grey wide-legged trousers and a simple turtleneck jumper. What is not to like. I kinda fancy the light grey trousers with a darker top. The Harris Wharf London coat made it even more stylish. Mary accessorized the outfit with matching reused heeled boots. I have never been able to identify them. Maybe one day.

Her fine black leather handbag is the same worn as the previous day. It is from Mulberry. Looks great with the black leather gloves. The diamond earrings are from Sophie Bille Brahe.

What's on the agenda?

December 19, 2025

The Mary Foundation's board-members met one last time before Christmas to discuss next years' agenda. They summed up the work of 2025 and talked about the foundation's 20th anniversary in 2027.

They also welcomed Klaus Dallerup and Michael Vad as new members of the board.

This time I REALLY wish we had more photos. I'd love to see her full outfit because the detailing of her blouse are smashing. Reminds me of another one from of hers but I can't seem to find it. Think she could have been wearing matching black trousers.

She wore a rather new Christmas brooch from Bohemehjem. It truly caught the world's attention when she first wore it when visiting Ungeherberget Sporsløjfen. The earrings earrings and rings were a wonderful addition to the rest of the outfit. So was the custom-made black South Sea pearl ring from Dulong Fine Jewelry.

Christmas reception at Christiansborg

December 18, 2025

King Frederik and Queen Mary hosted a Christmas reception at Christiansborg Castle for the Royal Household's employees and close partners. The gathering of 450 guests took place in the prestiges Knight's Hall.

Crown Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Queen Margrethe also attended the reception.

Wish we had more photos from the Christmas reception at Christiansborg because Mary looked absolutely stunning in that new Rebecca Vallance dress! The color is splendid and the embellished collar is a great twist. The design is beautifully simple and the details are fantastic.

Mary embraced the style of her new dress with whiny diamond bracelet - one of them is from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen, and simple black suede pumps. I have nothing bad to say about this outfit. I adore the fact that she painted her nails in that warm red color. What is not to like?

A look back at 2025 with the Mary Foundation

December 18, 2025

“Christmas is just around the corner, and a new year is soon to come. It gives us an opportunity to take a look back at the year that has passed. There will be both bright and less bright moments." - Queen Mary

The Queen took the opportunity to look back at another year with the Mary Foundation. What has happened the past year, achievements and what's the focus in 2026.

From what she is wearing I guess the new photos were taken when she hosted a Christmas reception at Frederik VIII's Palace earlier this month. The reception is a tradition guested by the Mary Foundation's partners.

Mary wore a beautiful jumper from Chloé and a crazy satin leopard midi skirt. I never ever thought Mary would be wearing a leopard printed skirt - till she did. I am not sure it's my kinda style but it looks great with the jumper.

I'm amazed by her new blue beaded necklace! It's a stunning creation and looks perfect with the two-tone earrings. Both earrings and necklace are unidentified.

The presentation of two new awards

December 15, 2025

Queen Mary arrived at the Opera in Copenhagen to attend the presentation of the Ministry of Education and Research two new awards.

The Into Change Award is to honor European researchers in the highest level. It goes to researchers who distinguished themselves through exceptional research. Queen Mary handed over the award to the ENGRAVE collaboration.

Along with Minister of Education and Research Christina Egelund, the Queen also presented the Into Innovation Award. It is awarded to a Danish entrepreneur who find themselves turning knowledge into innovation solutions.

Mary had chosen an elegant black velvet suit and paired it with a fine black satin blouse. I'm not quite sure I fancy the combination of fabrics but I like the intention of something dramatic like velvet and satin. Think we have seen the suit before. Do you like velvet suits?

Because of the satin blouse, I really like that she matched it with those Gianvito Rossi pumps. Always loved the shape of Rossi's pumps. So elegant and classy.

Lately, she has been wearing old goodies. Accessories we haven't seen for years. The same goes with the clutch that she carried with her at the award show. It is an old one from Ralph Lauren. Only worn ones before in 2012. The stunning diamond earrings are from an Bruun Rasmussen auction from a few years back.
