Day 1. Milan Design Week 2021

07 September

For about a month or so, we got the news that Crown Princess Mary was going to Italy to attend Milan Design Week 2021, which is the worlds biggest annual design event. This year, Denmark is also participating with prestiges event with representatives focusing on sustainability and the circular economic in Danish design and of course architecture. Crown Princess Mary is staying in Italy for two days.

The Danish exhibition is a collaboration between the royal danish embassy in Italy, Creative Denmark, Dansk Arkitektur Center, Dansk Industri, Realdania, VisitDenmark and the participating companies.

On her first day, she first paid a visit to Museo Nazionale Scienza e Tecnologia Leonardo Da Vinci. Here the Danish companies have their exhibitions. She was welcomed by Museum Director Fiorenzo Galli, Mayor of Milan Beppe Sala and Gallery owner Rossana Orlandi.

The Danish participants were clearly happy and proud to see the Crown Princess in Milano. It was with grey interest that Crown Princess Mary toured around the exhibition. She also gave the opening speech at the In-genius Waste Ceremony.

Personally, I have packed out my winter wardrobe. Woolen sweaters, tickers tights and longer dresses. Not Mary. She dressed up in a powder pink Marc Jacobs dress. Sure, the weather is different in Italy this time a year, but it seems a little strange with the weather we have in Denmark at the moment. Nevertheless, Mary looked splendid! Maybe you remember that she got the exact same dress in red. She already won my vote with the red one, but this is just as pretty.

Gold and powder pink are a magnificent match. I get why Mary chose this combination. The golden earrings are from Dulong Fine Jewelry. The same designer also created one of her necklaces, two of the golden rings and that curved new cuff. It is lovely, right? I really like how Mary was wearing all these stunning jewellery - plenty of them. It inspires me to wear more jewellery. Orit Elhanati created the second necklace and Rebekka Notkin is the talented designer of Mary's two other bracelets on her right wrist. The last bracelet is from Cartier. She also wore an Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen diamond band.

For sure you noticed that new small leather handbag. I learned at UFO No More that it is from Max Mara. Even though it is not that big, it will hold every essential you need on the go. I adore these smal handbags. My collection of small handbags are all vintage from the 50's. Mary's Gianvito Rossi snakeskin pumps are a prefect choice for this outfit.
