Virtuel summit on well-being

26th November

2020 has indeed been a year with changes to adapt to. Some things have been difficult to live without. Meanwhile, it has also thought us to be creative and go new ways both in private and in public. Like the rest of us, the royal family have also changed a few things. Several visits, conferences, openings and inaugurations have been downsized and many more were canceled.

About now, Crown Princess Mary has participated in a number of virtual meetings. One of them was her last appointment - a virtual summit about young people's well-being during COVID-19. She recorded her speech in advance, the day before, right from her office at Amalienborg, here.

When the Crown Princess speaks; we listen. As always, she has found her way to the core of what is important to highlight. Over the last few months, she has been confirmed in how reflective and caring Danish young people are. How much they think about others. And for that, she is grateful and proud. She also reminded us that we need to keep in mind that many of the things that young people have had to do without or have missed can feel like a greater loss. Something we must not look down on. Watch the whole speech here

It is not the first time this year that she is engaging in the well-being of children and young people during the pandemic. To mention just a couple: the International Day of the Girl Child, here, and the Children's Day 2020, here.

Minister of Education and Research Ane Halsboe-Jørgensen and Minister of Culture Joy Mogensen also participated the virtual summit as hosts.

From her purple chair. Behind her beautifully decorated desk Mary recorded her speech to the virtual summit on young people's well-being during COVID-19. For the event, she was dressed in her incredible bright blue blouse from Jesper Høvring. She matching it with what looks like simple black wide-legged trousers. She has worn the blouse on two other occasions. First at a Christmas reception in 2016 with the Mary Foundation and its partners, here, and later on in 2018 at the Designers' Nest Award, here. This is the first time she wears it with other trousers.

Mary embraced her lovely outfit with a few jewellery as well. All golden. Dulong Fine Jewelry is the master behind both her earrings and one of the bracelets. She has worn this combo for a while now. I really like, when we get to see her wear the same combination of jewellery with different outfits. Make me wanna find my own "jewellery-combo". The second bracelets looks like her beloved Cartier bangle. The short Orit Elhanati necklace has been in her wardrobe for many years, but the second one is rather new. Both necklaces are from the same creator. Would you wear two necklaces on a daily basis like Mary does?

We get a glimpse of her shoes as well. I think it looks like black suede pointed pumps. What do you see? If I am right, they could be from Gianvito Rossi. But I am not sure at all. What I now for sure, is that her hair and makeup looks absolutely splendid.

The Children's Day 2020

20th November

Two live streamed events with only a couple of days in between. That is new. First, the Crown Princess participated in a live stream on occasion of the Youth Public Meeting on Wednesday, here, and then two days later yet another one with UNICEF. A great way to great your message out without too many people gathered at one place.

The live stream took place in Tivoli on occasion of The Children's Day 2020. Organized by UNICEF. When arriving to Tivoli, she was welcomed by her "debate group" (Vilma, Esther and Thea) and Sofie Østergaard - a UNICEF ambassador. The five of them seems to get along right away and that is important when to discuss a private matter such as well-being.

Vilma, Esther and Thea answered questions about, among other things, what it is to be a child and young person in Denmark. Also questions like children's well-being under the corona and about children's rights in a global perspective were discussed. Serious questions that can be answered in many ways. Points to the three girls, who did a great job.

She also asked the young girls for some help. Crown Princess Mary had been asked to pick a song for a popular Danish program called "Fællessang - hver for sig". A program organized by conductor Phillip Faber. Vilma, Esther and Thea helped her pick the song "I Danmark er jeg født" with text by Hans Christian Andersen.

If this look is not inspiring, then I do not know what is. I especially love her outwear. When arriving to Tivoli, Mary was wearing her old navy blue Fonnesbech coat. A stunning piece. Even the length is inspiring. So is the color. She matched it with a reused watercolor printed scarf from Paul Smith. We first saw this scarf 9 years ago in 2011. She has worn it at a couple of public event, but mostly it is worn at more private events. Like when the family visited LegoLand during their holliday at Gråsten, here. I really like this combo.

The interview revealed what she was wearing underneath that smashing coat: a simple white button-down blouse and black wide-legged trousers. An amazing look. I always loved these wide-legged trousers of hers and the Etro belt. She wears them so beautifully. Wish I had the hight and figure to wear such trousers. I don't.

She embraced the style with golden jewellery. I see hoops from Dulong Fine Jewelry; a couple of magnificent necklaces from Orit Elhanati (one of them is rather new) and a course her diamond band from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Nothing new about these pieces of jewellery, but she wears them like it was the first time - every time. I am sure you also noticed her pointed ankle boots from Pura Lopez. They go back to 2013. A lovely pair of fall accessory. Mary also accessorized her outfit with her blue leather tote from Prada. Once again, her grace overwhelmed me.

Visiting UNESCO ASP School & a youth public meeting

18th November

For many years, the Crown Princess has been committed to do what she can to make the world a better place. A job like that takes might be overwhelming to some and probably also the Danish Crown Princess, but that thought seems to light up her spirit even more.

On Wednesday, Crown Princess Mary payed a visit to one of UNESCO's ASP schools: Roskilde Gymnasium. These school are being part of the global UNESCO Associated Schools Project Network. It gathers around 11,500 schools and institutions of education in more than 182 countries around the world. This impressive project is all about developing a teaching that supports the UN's world goals - something the Crown Princess has been truly committed to help fulfill.

She was warmly welcomed with both smiles and flowers, when she arrived to Roskilde Gymnasium. The students were in the middle of several different workshops. They gladly shared their thoughts and experiences with her. Especially, the UN's future role in achieving the world goals was in everybody's interest. The Crown Princess listened with great interested and participated the debate as well.

In the afternoon, she participated in a meeting with the Youth Public Meeting at ALICE cph in Copenhagen. Due to the worldspreding pandemic things have been a bit different for quite some time. It has also forced us to think alternative solutions and be creative on how we meet. Therefor the meeting was a live stream.

The Youth Public Meeting is a democracy festival. It aim to create both create desire and courage among young people to be part of the democracy debate. Crown Princess Mary showed her suppose with, among others, a speech. It was broadcasted live to all youth educations in Denmark. I guess it was inspiring watching the Crown Princess speak from your classroom.

Think we saw a casual and really well-dressed Crown Princess. Not much changed from one event to the other. Actually, she only added her old beloved Bottega Veneta handbag to complete the outfit, when participating the live stream at ALICE cph. Lately, we have seen so many incredible looks. She especially impressed me with her outfit at the presentation of the Magasin du Nord Fashion Prize, here, and when she attended the 20th anniversary conference with Children, Youth & Grief, here. The colors were absolutely magnificent.

When visiting Roskilde Gymnasium and later on attending the Youth Public Meeting, Mary had chosen a more simple outfit, but only when it comes to colors. She matched a reused Shrimps blouse with a pair of stunning Céline trousers and her black Prada coat. Simple, but it works! What is great about these more casual looks, is the chance to spice it up with eye-catching accessories. First I noticed the black belt. We have seen it before, but I still do not know where it is from - and it bothers me.

A closer look revealed that she was also wearing smashing pieces of jewellery. The diamond earrings are from Sophie Bille Brahe. I see three different bracelets: one from Cartier and two golden ones from Dulong Fine Jewelry. Classy creations that seems to be favorites of hers at the moment. With some detective work, I finally found a picture that show her ring. It is her beautiful Dulong Fine Jewelry ring with the green stone and diamonds. Rather new.

Something that is not new, is the black ankle boots. I assumed they were new, but I was wrong. They are old Pura Lopez boots. We have only seen her were these beauties once in public and that was when she was on her way to a private event. It was in 2013, when attending a private hunting dinner at Amalienborg. Unfortunately, I was only able to find one picture from the event and it does not show her shoes, but still you get a glimpse of how she style them boots once, here.

20 years with Children, Youth & Grief

12th November

"It is difficult, if not imposible, to find meaning in losing someone you love". With these words the Crown Princess started her speech at the Children, Youth & Griefs 20th anniversary conference at Skuespilhuset. She arrived in a great mood with a big smile on her face. It was a proud guest of honor and patron she attended the event.

Children, Youth & Grief offers free specialized psychological help for children and young people under the age of 28, who have either lost a close family member or have a seriously ill parent or sibling. Crown Princess Mary has been patron for the organisation for several years now and on that occasion she has participated many event during the years. At each event she gets a new insight into the organization's work to help children and young people in a difficult time of their life.

The Crown Princess often gives a speech at the events she attends. She even won a prize for her speech at Crown Prince Frederik's 50th birthday. Her speech at the anniversary conference is now almost legendary because of her impulsive emotional reaction to her own words. Most media linked her reaction to her own loss of her mother. I am sure it had an impact on her too, but actually she commented on it herself in a post on social media. Her reaction was the result of a more common feeling amongst all of them gathered in Skuespilhuset. They all suffered some kind of loss. They all know what it is to loose someone.

I love women in a good suit. I simply love suits in all colors and shapes. Mary has really embraced the love of suits too. Recently, she has worn suits and matching sets on a number of different occasions. Like when she attended the inauguration of Nation of Health, here, handed over the CSR Award, here, or visited Helsingør, here. At the Children, Youth & Griefs 20th anniversary conference Mary wore a brand new chic suit. Heaven managed to identify this new green suit as a design from Massimo Dutti. I imagine it worn with so many of her colored shoes and blouses. Cannot wait to see it again. Hopefully soon. She matched it with a new white blouse from Hugo Boss.

A few details were a little different than what we are use to see. Usually, Mary does not wear a facemask and we never see her with glasses. At least not at official events. She looks completely different wearing glasses, but I love it. FLEYE previously confirmed to me that her glasses are their design. She also styled her outfit with more wellknown accessories. The black bag is one of her old favorites from Bottega Veneta and the matching green leather pumps are from Valentino.

Mary also wore interesting and beautiful jewellery. A closer look revealed that her golden earrings and necklace are new too. With some help from Kate it turned out that the earrings are from Orit Elhanati - the same designer as both her old golden necklace and the new one. We also get a glimpse of her golden Cartier bangle and a diamond band from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. A really amazing outfit, right?

"Meet our patron, Crown Princess Mary"

08th November

Recently, the Danish Refugee Council announced a brand new webside. On that occasion they also presented a new video of their patron: Crown Princess Mary. She has been a committed and proud patron for quite some years now. As patron, she has attended conferences, visited shelters abroad and had annual meetings with both management and volunteers. Like in January, when she met with General Secretary Charlotte Slente and Chairman Agi Csonka, here. Or when she attended the launch of "Børnenes U-Landskalender" two years ago, here

The Crown Princess is patron of several organisations and foundations. Truly committed to each and one of them. This time she showed her support in this new video, here. With great confidence and humility, Crown Princess Mary made it clear that a problem has not yet been solved. People still need the simplest help. Danish Refugee Council provide that. Watch and learn. Let the patron speak. Please, note that the picture is from another event.

Surrounded by what looks like a magnificent painting, Mary shared her words. She matched every inch of it wearing that green blouse. To me it looks new. I cannot remember if or when we have seen it before. Recently, she wore another green blouse, when she attended the International Day of the Girl Child, here. I also hit a dead end with that one. My guess is that she must have worn black trousers. Maybe wide-legged trousers. A great outfit. Perfect for the occasion. How would you style a green blouse?

Having watched the video a few times, it looks like she is also wearing a golden necklace. I see her twisted Orit Elhanati necklace. Maybe she was also wearing some golden bracelets as well. Immortalized is also her stunning blow-out. The length, color and movement makes me wanna dye my hair immediately.

Magasin du Nord Fashion Prize 2020

5th November

Crown Princess Mary was suppose to participate a roundtable debate about ICDP+26 at Christiansborg this afternoon, but due to the current situation, a new date has been chosen for the event. So far, a new date has not been announced. Something that did not change is the fact that she was guest of honor at the presentation of the Magasin du Nord Fashion Prize 2020. We like that, right?

For many years, the Crown Princess has been committed to make the world a better place. Also when it comes to fashion. The fashion industry is one the largest and much can (and need) to change to improve both working-conditions, the environment, the use of raw materials, etc. Not long ago, she was interviewed by CEO of Global Fashion Agenda, Eva Kruse on occasion of CFS+, here. Her commitment has led her to become, among other things, patron for the Global Fashion Agenda.

This time, she represented a belief in a better fashion industry, when she attended the presentation of the Magasin du Nord Fashion Prize. The prize has more than one purpose: to find and promote future Danish designers, who value and incorporate sustainability and ethical responsibility as well as business ideas, innovation and originality in design.

It is not the first time Crown Princess Mary attend the presentation of this prestigious prize. Magasin du Nord Fashion Prize was first handed over eight years ago, in 2012. Once again, Crown Princess Mary was in a magnificent mood. She was warmly welcomed by an old friend, Baroness Nina Wedell-Wedellsborg. She is board member of the Magasin du Nord Foundation and a jury member.

Many Danish designers have been nominated to win the prize, but previous winner Cecilie Bahnsen took the prize and the 200,000 Danish Kroner. This is the second time. She also won Magasin du Nord Fashion Prize in 2016. Congratulations to Cecile and her team.

Even though we have not seen that many pictures from the event, I already love every single part of it. Because she has worn so so much black lately, I had my doubts that she would wear colors. But I was wrong. Her outfit is far from black. She embraced the style of a true fashion queen by wearing clean white trousers and a brand new creamy white turtleneck blouse. Heaven managed to identify this new pieces as ZARA. It is from 2019 and still available - also in other lovely colors. Maybe a gift to treat yourself? Her amazing colorful coat is an old one from YDE Copenhagen. She first wore it at an official state visit in Japan in 2017, here. I love it even more now.

I am sure you noticed her new golden earrings as well. Huge earrings. Not something she wears often. Actually, I do not remember her ever wearing something like this. A bit 80s because of the size. They are nothing but 80s. These stunning new golden earrings are created by Rebekka Notkin. A design from her latest collection called "Carved". I am almost mesmerized by them. What do you think? She matched the earrings with her golden Cartier bangle.

I do not see a clutch or a bag, but I see some incredible nude patent pumps from Prada. I never thought about wearing pointed pumps myself. Not until Mary started wearing them. Especially these are great. With a pair of nude pointed pumps in your wardrobe, you are able to copy many of Mary's outfits. This look has differently just become one of my favorites!

Stranger than kindness: the Nick Cave Exhibition

1st November

The Crown Prince couple had just presented the Crown Prince Couple's Prizes 2020 in Randers the previous day and then they showed up for an exhibition at The Black Diamond in Copenhagen the following day. On November 1st, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary were given a personal guided tour at the exhibition "Stranger Than Kindness: The Nick Cave Exhibition" by the artist himself.

Australian musician Nick Cave and his wife Susie Cave proudly welcomed the Crown Prince Couple and shared their passion for the exhibition. The exhibition opened in June earlier this year and is made in collaboration between Nick Cave, the Royal Library and Arts Centre Melbourne. It shows Nick Cave's life and career in eight art installations, among others, his office. Some of his personal belongings are also exhibited - books, photographies, etc.

According to the Royal Court, the couple were also invited to join Nick and his wife for afternoon tea.

Read more about the exhibition here and visit it till 13th February 2021.

Well dressed as always. Even at these more private visits Mary looks absolutely splendid. Wonder if this is how she is dressed on everdays? Think so. Who would not want to look like this on a daily basis? I wouldn't mind. When meeting with musician Nick Cave and his wife, Susie Cave she was wearing a great everyday look. She matched her checkered Sandro trousers with a simple grey knitted sweater, which I believe is new.

Wish we had just a few more pictures, especially because I am very interested in what jewellery she was wearing. I see her golden Dulong Fine Jewelry bracelet and some golden rings. The bad quality makes it almost impossible to identity them, but it makes the outfit look super chic. Also the black Gianvito Rossi ankle boots add a certain vibe to the look. Don't you think?

I also love the fact that the couple matches. Mary is wearing black shoes; so is Frederick. She glow in grey trousers; so is he. Even their blouses match. That is one h**l of a couple.

The Crown Prince Couple's Prizes 2020

31st October

A day of celebration and honor. Once again, the Crown Prince Couple were about to present the winners of the Crown Prince Couple's Prizes 2020. This year the award show took place at Værket in Randers. Originally, the couple were suppose to attend another event prior to the big show, but due to the current pandemic things changed.

Early in the morning a couple of new photos were published of the Crown Prince and Crown Princess. Photographer Stine Heilmann captured this wonderful moment of the couple. These new photos - one of the couple together and another one with only Crown Prince Frederik - were relieved on occasions of the award show.

Later on, the Crown Prince shared the couple arriving to Randers, here, just before rehearsing the show. It was also captured and shared on social media. Love these glimpses of "behind the scene" moments. Usually, the Crown Prince couple are also a big part of the show and a rehearsal is necessary. Looks like they got the grip of it.

At 9 pm. local time, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary arrived to Værket in Randers once more. They were warmly welcomed with smiles, flowers and friendly words. The grand award show was broadcasted live on Danish TV. During the show four winners were presented:

● Actress Danica Curcic won the Crown Prince Couple's Culture Prize

● Kofoed School was given the Crown Prince Couple's Social Prize

●Choreographer Sebastian Kloberg and De Anbragtes Vilkår received the Crown Prince Couple's Stardust Prizes.

Congratulations to all of the winners and their: "Extraordinary efforts and achievements in art and culture as well as social work"*.

As usual, the show also shared previously recorded interviews between the Crown Prince Couple and some of the winners. In September, Crown Princess Mary visited Kofoed School who received the social prize, here.

Writing this post was quite a job. So much to keep in place but so far, I think I managed to remember most of it. This much to write about is also great, especially when we get to see all these incredible outfits. Think I speak for many of us, when I say that Mary looked absolutely splendid next to her husband on that new official photo. The beautiful white dress is a Beulah London creation. This time she embraced the style with a silver embossed snake belt and golden jewellery from both Dulong Fine Jewelry, Rebekka Notkin and Cartier. One amazing outfit!

Prior to the big show, Mary visited Kofoed School. They are the winner of the Crown Prince Couple's social prize. She embraced a summer chic style by wearing dusty green trousers and her white button-down shirt with printed animals. Nor the trousers and the blouse have been found. I wonder why, but sometimes she wears clothes that are out of the ordinary and that makes it hard to find her new pieces. She accessorized her outfit with golden jewellery from Dulong Fine Jewelry and Carter. The brown leather sandals are also new. It took awhile to identify them, but now we know they are from Gianvito Rossi.

At the rehearsal at Værket, Mary had chosen yet another great outfit. Way more appropriate for this time a year. Somehow I have a hard time figuring out if her clothes are new or if we have seen it before. She embraced the style by wearing a black figure-hugging sweater and grey checkered trousers. Looks like something we could have been on a previous occasions, but I am not sure. Do you recognize it? She accessorized the stunning outfit with Dulong Fine Jewelry bracelets and another one from Cartier. I am sure you also noticed that Mary wore her smashing ankle boots from Gianvito Rossi.

Finally, the couple arrived to attend a spectacular show in Randers. Mary was dressed in a brand new creation, which turned out to be a design by Søren Le Schmidt. He also made her gown last year, here. Do you remember it? This year the dress was way shorter and way more everyday like. It features sheer sleeves, a V-neckline and some metallic prints. Cannot wait to see how she is going to wear it at another event. Maybe with other shoes and a bag? How would you like her to style it? To complete her outfit, Mary wore blue aquamarine chandelier earrings, a laser cut silver bangle, her golden Cartier bracelet and those beautiful Manolo Blahnik pumps. She topped it of with an incredible half updo.

Inauguration of Strokelinjen

29th October

Once again, Crown Princess Mary attended yet another inauguration as proud patron. This time as patron of the Brain Association, she attended the opening of StrokeLinjen. It took place in Taastrup. At the arrival she was welcomed by Birgitte Forchhammer, CEO of the Brain Association and National President for the the Brain Association, Tue Byskov Bøtkjær. The inauguration was part of World Stroke Day. Despite a more distanced welcoming, everybody were in a splendid mood including the Crown Princess. All smiles and laughing.

StrokeLinjen is a brand new initiative, which works as a nationwide counseling and information service. It offers free counseling over the phone. What is also new, is a webside created as a univers sharing knowledge on how to prevent, treat and rehabilitate from a stroke. Both news, podcasts, films, etc. are part of this new univers.

The Crown Princess also spoke to a man who had experienced a stroke and how he delt with the situation. She also witnessed the very first video call StrokeLinjen received. Counselor Maja Klamer Løhr answered the call from Casper Schørder. His wife has had a stroke and now he receives counseling from StrokeLinjen on how to be a relative to someone how has had a stroke.

We have seen so many incredible and magnificent outfits lately. One more and still counting. Mary looked really beautiful at the inauguration of StrokeLinjen in Taastrup. Simple and almost all in black, but beautiful. She had chosen one of her black ZARA blouses. It features white pearl buttons and a soft neckline. A really great match with those black trousers.

At the arrival she wore a lovely green coat. It is from Theory. Love that she did not also wear a black coat. This green one makes a wonderful combo. Makes me want my very own emerald green coat. I have the traditional black winter coat. What color is your coat and would you dare a coat in green? She first wore it at the Queen's birthday last year, here. I still prefer her look from 2019, but the one from October 29th is a also a great improvement.

Once again, she had only chosen very few pieces of accessories. The white pearl earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry goes way back in time. Still, they are super chic and fashionable. Orit Elhanati is the designer of her twisted golden Abyss necklace. Think I spotted the golden Cartier bangle as well. Last but not least, Mary embraced the style by wearing black suede pumps from Gianvito Rossi.

Inauguration of Nation af Health

28th October

As patron for Healthcare DENMARK, Crown Princess Mary arrived in Odense to attend the grand inauguration of Nation of Health - a new visiting center for future international delegation visits. A great initiative in strong relation to what Healthcare DENMARK is all about: to promote Danish health, welfare and life science and to share knowledge of Danish health solutions.

She was warmly welcomed by Peter Rahbæk Juel, Mayor of Odense and Minister of Trade and Industry, Simon Kollerup. Also Chairman of Danish Regions, Stephanie Lose and Chairman of Healthcare DENMARK, Jørgen Falkebo Jensen took part in the welcome committee. With a bouquet of flowers and a huge smile on her face, the Crown Princess officially opened the new center by cutting the traditional red ribbon.

After the inauguration, she was given a guided tour around the facilities and was told about the project. Nation of Health is established by both Healthcare DENMARK and the Industry Fund in collaboration with University of Southern Denmark, Odense Municipality, UCL, and Region Syddanmark. As promotor and strong advocator of better welfare for more people (both in Denmark and abroad), I think the Crown Princess was a proud patron attending the inauguration.

How many of us fit into our 16 year old clothes? Not me. I am hardly able to wear clothes from last year. Not Mary. This black striped suit is from 2004. Previous to three pregnancies and four children. Mary first the Dolce & Gabanna suit on a business promotion visit in London sixteen years ago, here. Much has happened since then and she still fits it like nothing has. I am overwhelmed and impressed every time we see her wear this suit. Personally, I love matching sets and this one is simply magnificent.

Attending the inauguration, Mary embraced her Dolce & Gabbana creation with the most casual piece of clothes: a white t-shirt. She had also chosen incredible accessories. Huge white pearl earrings. We have seen her wear them on a couple of other occasions, but I still do not know where they are from. Any ideas? The beautiful golden necklace is a design by Orit Elhanati. She is also wearing, what looks like a diamond ring. Less is more, right?

Wish I could wear pumps with trousers as Mary does and these black Gianvito Rossi pumps makes a great match with the rest of her outfit. Don't you think? I always admired Gianvito Rossi's shoes. The shape, hight and colors are amazing. Last year, I got my very own pair of Rossi peep toe pumps and I love when even more now.
