Day 3. Official visit to the Faroe Islands

Eiði

June 13, 2025

King Frederik, Queen Mary and Princess Josephine have visited the islands of Tórshavn, Vágur, Fámjin, Tvøroyi as part of an official visit to the Faroe Islands. The tree days visit is hosted by Attorney General Aksel V. Johannesen.

On June 13th, the three of them docked with Dannebrog in Eiði. The King and Queen were pleased to meet the artists Sigrun Gunnarsdóttir. Sigrun is born and raised in Eiði. Her art is created with inspiration from the Faroese nature and culture.

The royal couple were then welcomed in Vaglið by the Mayor of Eiði. He introduced the them to the city council and gave a welcoming speech. King Frederik and Queen Mary also enjoyed lunch at Hólmhúsið.

Did you know that Mary's Strenesse jacket goes back to 2005 and is part of a pants suit? She first wore it in public in 2006 when visiting Kiel. When visiting Eiði Mary styled the jacket with a checkered Ralph Lauren skirt. It was first seen in 2018. I kinda like the skirt but I am not sure it goes well with the jacket. What do you think?

She accessorized the outfit with beloved golden Dulong Fine Jewelry earrings and a matching custom-made ring also crafted by Dulong Fine Jewelry. Her smashing black heeled boots are reused from Gianvito Rossi. I really want a pair of boots like these. Maybe brown leather.

Hiking in Eiðiskollur

North of Eiði lies the mountain Eiðiskollur. King Frederik, Queen Mary and Princess Josephine hiked Eiðiskollur. The mountain is a 343-meter-high rock formation which offered a magnificent view of the landscape.

On their trip to Eiðiskollur they found a few fjallabrúður - a unique mountain flower, which is also seen in Queen Mary's national costome.

Hiking around Eiði Mary had chosen the perfect outfit: her blue down-jacket from Patagonia and green Laksen trousers. Looks like she was also wearing a black jacket. The chic tweed cap is still a mystery. As you know it was first worn by her husband some year's back. Suddenly, Mary started wearing it.

She kept all her belongings in a Haglöfs backpack. The hiking boots are new ones from Salomon.

Reception at Danneborg

It has been three wonderful days for the royal couple and their youngest visiting Tórshavn, Vágur, Fámjin, Tvøroyi and Eiði.

On June 13th the King and Queen hosted a reception at Dannebrog. The reception marks the official end of the couple's visit.

Wauw! Mary looked absolutely stunning. Radiant in her bright red dress created by the talented Danish tailor Birgit Hallstein. She was the one tailoring Mary's wedding gown. Birgit Hallstein also made quite a few other dressed for Mary since the wedding in 2004.

We only have a couple of photos from the reception at Dannebrog. They show Mary in her stunning dress and jewellery from Rebekka Notkin. She is fond of wearing these earrings with the golden bangle and diamond studded ring. Iconic designs by Rebekka Notkin.

Day 2. Official visit to the Faroe Islands

Vágur, Fámjin, Tvøroyri

June 12, 2025

King Frederik, Queen Mary and Princess Josephine arrived in Tórshavn on June 11th. They are traveling with Dannebrog - the Danish royal yacht.

On June 12th Dannebrog docked Vágur, where they visited both FabLab, Vágseiði and the nursing home Hamragarður.

Later that day the arrived in Fámjin. The King and Queen visited the company TARI. They farm seaweed and make products of seaweed.

The last stop was Tvøroyri. The couple accompanied each other when visiting the kindergarden Mýrifípan. At the plantation King Frederik and Queen Mary helped each other plant a tree.

In the evening the coupe attended a dinner hosted by Mayor Kristin Michelsen. The dinner took place at the culture house SALT.

Visiting the Faroe Islands takes a warm and practical wardrobe. Mary packed wisely. When visiting Vágur Mary embraced a chic look. She wore a couple of coats from Scandinavian Edition and Uniqlo. Later on she changed to a lovely creamy white Harris Wharf London double-breasted coat. A perfect match with the dark blue turtleneck and the printed Etro belt.

She styled the outfit with beloved diamond earrings from Sophie Bille Brahe and a magnificent diamond ring. One day I hope to be able to identify it.

When spilinning in Vágur Mary wore Salomon boots. She then changed to a pair of black suede boots.

Day 1. Official visit to the Faroe Islands

Tórshavn

June 11, 2025

Arrival at Tórshavn

King Frederik and Queen Mary are on official visit to the Faroe Islands from June 11-13th. Princess Josephine accompanied her parents.

The three of them made a private to Koltur a day prior to them arriving in Tórshavn on June 11.

The King, Queen and Princess were officially welcomed in Tórshavn Wednesday around noon. Then a reception followed in Tinganes and a visit at Lagtinget. They were also welcomed at Tórshavnar Kommune.

They were then served lunch before visiting við Tjarnir. Queen Mary also payed a visit to the school Glyvra Skúli.

On the first day in Tórshavn the couple wore their traditional Faroese national costume. Mary received hers on the couple's first visit to the Faroe Islands in 2005. Both the clothes and silver pieces of jewellery were custom-made for her. I think her the "butterfly" brooch was a gift from their visit in 2018.

Mary accessorized her outfit with fine diamond earrings from Sophie Bille Brahe and the most beautiful updo. I missed these stunning hairstyles. Did you also spot the shiny diamond ring?

Her black ankle boots are old ones from Gianvito Rossi. Mary first wore them at the birthday celebration of Queen Margrethe in 2015.

Dinner at Hotel Føroyar

Attorney General Aksel V. Johannesen hosted an official dinner at Hotel Føroyar with King Frederik and Queen Mary as guests of honor. Both Aksel V. Johannesen and the King addressed their gratitude with a speech before the dinner.

Mary also wore her amazing traditional Faroese national costume. The green, red and black costume is really beautiful next to her fair skin and dark brown hair. Her embraced the style at Hotel Føroyar with an embellished Ellen Hunter hair comb. The comb has been seen on a couple of other events.

Earlier that day Mary received a magnificent gift. A set of silver jewellery. The earrings, necklace and matching cuff are a gift from talented Niels Large. I truly hope she will be wearing the set soon again. The design is marvelous.

This is Mary's fourth pair of Manolo Blahnik's iconic 'Hangisi' satin jewel buckle pumps. We have seen her wear them in grey, yellow and blue. Look closely and you will see an old Bottega Veneta clutch in black satin.

Private visit to Koltur

June 10, 2025

King Frederik and Queen Mary will be on official visit to the Faroe Island's from June 11 to 13th. They will be staying on board Dannebrog. The couple will be visiting Tórshavn, Vágur, Fámjin, Tvøroyi and Eiði. The tree day visit is hosted by Attorney General Aksel V. Johannesen.

The couple made a private visit at the island of Koltur south of Streymoy prior to the official visit on June 11. Princess Josephine surprised everbody with her participation. What an experience to have with your parents.

The three of them visited the historical settlements Nor ami í Ger Kongi and Heima í Húsi. These settlements are from dated back to the Viking age.

I am not quite sure if it in fact is the same jacket. If it is the same color. If so then Mary's Cintamani jacket goes back to 2009 or 2010. Mary also wore a Cintamani jacket skiing in Verbier in 2013. When visiting Koltur she stayed warm in a down-jacket from Patagonia as well and trousers from Laksen.

She has worn the tweed cap quite a few times. It has never been identified. Frederik has been seen wearing the cap too. Mary's practical backpack is a new one from Haglöfs. The Salomon shoes were a perfect match for the hike around Koltur. I think she was wearing her health-tracking ring.
