Meeting with UNCHR

16 May 2024

The Queen just arrived home from Oslo. They couple participated a two-days official state visit in Norway.

On May 16th, she hosted a meeting with the High Commissioner of UNHCR Filippo Grandi to a chat about UN's challenging work to protect the lives and rights of refugees. Also the effort to improve the conditions of women and girls in humanitarian crises and the importance of climate change for vulnerable local communities.

We have seen so many amazing outfits the last month. First, their visit to Sweden and then to Norway. When meeting with Filippo Grandi, the High Commissioner of UNHCR she had chosen one of her Apiece Apart dressed. Always loved the color and the print. I adored her outfit in 2018, when celebrating her husbands 50th birthday.

At the meeting, she styled her outfit with Gucci tortoise-like glasses and jewellery from Dulong Fine Jewelry, Halberstadt, Julie Sandlau and Rebekka Notkin. Her golden bangles are still a nightmare.

Day 2.

Official state visit to Norway

15 May 2024

Visit at 'Østmarka'

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit accompanied the King and Queen for a walk in Ulsruvannet, which is part of the outdoor area Østmarka.

The four of them took the subway to Østmarka. Representatives and guides from the Norwegian Tourist Association also took part in the walk. They presented the scenic and urban park, which is has also become a gathering place for both children and young people.

What is better than a good hiking outfit? Love how Mary is rocking both evening gown, jeans, fine floral printed blouses and hiking boots. That is what makes her our beloved Queen. Down on earth and professional with whatever the title prescribe (of course with a touch of her own).

When hiking in Østmarka, she looked lovely in brand new trousers from Carhartt Wip, a simple black blouse and a reused Moncler down vest. I'm still looking to find her brown leather belt. Her boots are great ones from Arc'Teryx and the sunglasses are blue Gucci.

We also get a fine glimpse of her Halberstadt and Julie Sandlau necklaces. Always keeping her family close.

Meeting with the Norwegian Prime Minister and official lunch

Around noon, the couple met with the Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, whom also joined them for the Government's official lunch at Akershus Slott. The castle goes back to the middle age and once housed Margrethe 1. when she was Queen of Norway as child and young adult.

King Harold, Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit attended the lunch as well. Wonderful to see all of them together.

This will be my favorite outfit of the year! I know Mary looked gorgeous last night in her altered Birgit Hallstein dress, but this will still be my favorite look. Primarily, because of the skirt. Just a few weeks ago I found a vintage skirt very similar to Mary's and now I love it even more.

Our beautiful Queen wore a new dusty mint Jesper Høvring blouse and that stunning checkered Emilia Wickstead skirt. The best looks like the one worn the previously day, when the couple arrived in Oslo.

Mary accessorized the outfit with a brand new Ellen Hunter comb. Her earrings goes way back and were once purchased at an Bruun Rasmussen auction. She also wore jewellery from Halberstadt, Julie Sandlau P. Hertz and Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Thrilled to see the P. Hertz bracelet again.

She matched the belt with a Prada clutch and shoes.

Architectural walk

When the couple have had lunch with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, the King and Queen and Crown Prince Couple they accompanied each other one more time, when participating an architectural walk at the harbor in Oslo.

During the architecture walk, they were shown multiple examples on how common Danish-Norwegian solutions help the nature, water and the humans back in the center of Oslo.

I love when Mary is wearing these maxi skirts. Looks so elegant and classy. Great how she embraced it with simple Chanel flats and a brand new white button-down from Bagutta. Makes the outfit even more casual, but polished. I yet have to identify this new skirt. Royal Fashion Police suggest this one, but there are differences. Any ideas?

Time is up for wearing hats to keep your head protected from the sun - and to look even more fashionable. Mary wore one from Canopy Bay by Deborah Hutton. It is new. Her sunglasses are reused ones from Gucci.

Mary accessorized her beautiful outfit with earrings from Dulong Fine Jewelry, necklaces from Halberstadt and Julie Sandlau. Her bracelets are creation by Rebekka Notkin and P. Hertz.

Her crossbody bag? - it is a Chloe design first worn in 2013 when visiting Jordan.

Return event at Dannebrog

It has indeed been two magnificent days! Seems like the couple have had a wonderful time in Norway.

This evening, the King and Queen hosted a return event on board Dannebrog with attendance from King Harald, Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit.

We can't ask for mere. Mary looked so good when hosting the return event on Dannebrog. The floral printed dress is Zimmermann and worn before. You remember when? Twice in 2019 - in South Korea and Oslo. And then again in 2022 for the wedding of Prince Gustavn and Carina Axelsson.

She embraced the evening look with another brand new hair comb from Ellen Hunter! Always wanted to wear combs but they don't really work for me. Do you like hair accessories?

The earrings are reused but never identified. My guess is that they were purchased on an auction. They can be worn in different lengths. The colorful bracelet is P. Hertz and her stunning sling-backs are Gianvito Rossi.

The Queen might left a bit early because she was to meet with with the High Commissioner of UNHCR Filippo Grandi the following day.

From floral Zimmermann dress and heels to relaxed Weekend Max Mara blouse and jeans styled with Gucci sunglasses, (new?) white sneakers and her P. Hertz bracelet. With wavy hair and her phone in her hand. What is not to like about out Queen?

20 years of marriage

May 14th is a very special day for the King and Queen. This year, they celebrate their 20th anniversary! I can't believe it is twenty years since the fair Mary Elizabeth Donaldson walked down the aisle with her father. Twenty years since the couple confirmed their love. Let's celebrate the couple with a little trip down back memory lane.

Day 1.

Official state visit to Norway

14 May 2024

On their way to Oslo

The King and Queen just participated an official state visit to Sweden and are now on their way to visit Norway. They are spending time on board Dannebrog and is arriving in Oslo by the royal ship.

The couple shared a photo of the two of them a few hours before arriving in Oslo.

What an amazing photo! I love the whole atmosphere. Casual and relaxed. Mary looked beautiful in a simple black and white striped Max Mara blouse, probably jeans an a lightweight navy blue down vest from Yeti.

Best guess is that she matched the casual outfit with a pair of sneakers. The blue Gucci sunglasses are a reuse. First worn when inaugurating the hiking route 'Skudestien' in August 2023.

Official welcoming

King Frederik and Queen Mary arrived at Honnørbryggen in Oslo around noon and were warmly welcomed by the Norwegian royal family. What a sight! Followed by an official welcoming ceremony at Det Kongelige Slott.

The couple then attended a ceremony at the memorail site ' The National Monument' for the victims of the war in 1940-1945. They also had the pleasure of meeting the President of the Parliament Masud Gharahkhani before having lunch at Kongsgården.

Wauw! Mary looked absolutely stunning when the couple arrived in Oslo, Norway. So polished and elegant. Love how she matched her reused plain white Ralph Lauren jacket with that paisley printed Erdem skirt. She emphasized her slim waist beautifully with a dusty pink belt. Great color!

What Mary do best is color-combinations. Especially, when she wears accessories in the same color palette. Like the belt, Max Mara handbag and exclusive pointed Gianvito Rossi pumps. I am always amazed how she is able to find matching colors even crossing designers.

I am sure you noticed her fine earrings. Mary inherited them from Queen Margrethe - who actually wore them on her official 18th birthday portrait. Mary first wore them in 2012. According to Billed Bladet, Mary's new brooch also belonged to Queen Margrethe. It goes back to Queen Lovisa.

Visit at 'Oslo Science City' and 'MiNaLab'

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit accompanied King Frederik and Queen Mary, when the couple paid a visit at 'MiNaLab' which is part of Oslo University and it an open laboratory for students and scientists.

The royal couple were given an insight into current research in microchips and the potential of quantum technology, such as the cooperation between Norway and Denmark on the green transition.

Love how Mary and Mette-Marit matched their outfits. Both wearing a fine blouse and wide-legged trousers. Mary had chosen a brand new blue and white striped button-down and old Chloe trousers. The color is simply wonderful. Never really thought about paring blue and brown.

She also wore a rather new brown leather handbag from Anya Hindmarch. First seen on May 7th 2024. We also get a glimpse of new Malone Souliers mules. I am not their biggest fan, but Mary wear them with such elegance.

Her stunning jewellery are Orit Elhanati earrings, a golden diamond studded Halberstadt necklace and a custom-made ring from Dulong Fine Jewelry. Splendid combo!

Gala dinner at Det Kongelige Slott

What a wonderful night it was when King Harald and Queen Sonja hosted a prestiges gala dinner at Det Kongelige Slott in Oslo.

Both Crown Prince Haakon, his wife Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Princess Astrid also attended the fine dinner.

It was indeed a magical night! Everybody looked so happy and all were well-dressed. Loved Queen Sonja's dress. The color is amazing. Reminds me a bit about one of Mary's Jesper Høvring dresses. Crown Princess Mette-Marit also looked beautiful in her two-piece.

Nevertheless, Mary took my breath away in her altered Birgit Hallstein dress. The Danish tailor really did a great work with her old gowns from from 2015. It is hard to believe it is even the same dress. Completely transformed. I adore the new details!

What's even more fantastic, is that Mary wore the exquisite Danish Pearl Poiré Parure - previously worn by among others Queen MargretheQueen Ingrid and Princess Louise. Read more about the parure at 'The Royal Watcher'.

She also embraced the evenings outfit with a reused J. Furmani silver clutch, her beloved Halberstadt necklace and shiny Manolo Blahnik pumps.

Day 2.

Official state visit to Sweden

07 May 2024

A day in Stockholm

From the morning, King Frederik accompanied King Carl Gustaf when visiting Stockholm's amphibious regiment. Among others, they were given a guided tour on HMS Helsingborg and had a chat with some of the Swedish regiments divers.

Around noon, Queen Mary and Queen Sonja visited the museum 'Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde'. Prince Eugen of Sweden was an artist and great art collector. After his death, his home was transformed to a museum.

The couple had lunch at Stockholm's Stadshus, followed by a visit at Forskaren (a new life science center in Sweden) and Nodriska Muséet. Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia also attended the lunch at Stadshus.

My heart sings when Mary is wearing something red! The color looks amazing on her with her fair skin and dark brown hair. Birgit Hallstein tailored her dazzling bright red dress. The details are exquisite. Her light brown wool-blend cape from Oscar de la Renta was a perfect match.

Mary accessorized her beautiful outfit with plenty of jewellery: earrings, a brooch and a bracelet from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Necklaces from Halberstadt and Julie Sandlau. Another bracelet from Dulong Fine Jewelry.

Anya Hindmarch is the designer of her brand new soft brown leather handbag. I am breathless. The shape. The color. Everything is outstanding about this new little bag. The same goes with the red suede Gianvito Rossi pumps.

Return reception at Dannebrog

After two great days in Sweden, King Frederik and Queen Mary hosted a return event at the royal ship Danneborg for King Carl Gustaf and Queen Sonja.

Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia also attended the reception, along with Princess Christina.

The Swedish King and Queen then hosted a final gathering at Kungliga Slottet.

Mary was beautifully dressed in a reused printed Saloni dress and later a fine white JOSEPH coat. She wore the dress last year at the presentation of the annual Christmas Stamp in November. Stunning details!

She embraced the style with shimmery golden diamond earrings from Rebekka Notkin. Worn at a number of different occasions. On a business promotion visit in Norway, a state visit in South Korea and when attending the enthronement of Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako in 2019. What an outfit! Mary looked absolutely stunning when the couple arrived in Stockholm for their two days official state visit. She wore her wonderful bespoke Mark Kenly Domino Tan dress and a chic dark cape to keep warm. The beautiful new hat is from Jane Taylor. Later on, she changed from hat to hair comb - an Ellen Hunter design.

Looking closer we see diamond earrings from Bruun Rasmussen, bracelets from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen and Dulong Fine Jewelry. Her other jewellery are Halberstadt and Julie Sandlau. Official gala dinner

King Carl Gustav and Queen Sonja hosted a prestiges gala dinner at Kungliga Slottet in Stockholm on occasion of the Danish King and Queen visiting Sweden.

Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel also attended the gala dinner, such as Prince Carl Philip and his wife Princess Sofia.

Both King Carl Gustav and King Frederik gave a speech before the dinner.

Queen of the night! Mary was indeed Queen of the night. She looked magical in her altered Jesper Høvring dress. Maybe you remember the golden skirt from 2017? At the gala dinner in Sweden, Mary wore the stunning skirt with another floral lace top. A creation by Jesper Høvring from Fall 2018.

Mary honored Queen Ingrid by wearing her famous and beloved Ruby Parure. The rubies are a wonderful match with the dress. Do you like the colorcombo? Even her box clutch matched in color. Dulong Fine Jewelry created the golden ruby ring in the same style as the parure.

Change of guards at Fredensborg

03 May 2024

From now on, there will be a big change of guards parade every friday at Fredensborg due to the fact that the King (and Queen) is resident at Kancellihuset.

The royal couple officially took resident at Fredensborg yesterday on May 2nd, which makes this change of guards the very first. King Frederik was not able to attend the parade, so Queen Mary showed up instead.

The Queen is at top of her game these days when it comes to outfits. Just look at her. Simply wonderful. Love how she matched a simple light blue button-down shirt with a brand new a-line midi skirt. Plain and simple outfit, yet absolutely beautiful. She accessorized the outfit with brown suede Gianvito Rossi pumps and a yellow gold diamond ring from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.

Official boarding Dannebrog

02 May 2024

Boarding Dannebrog in Copenhagen

The King and Queen boarded the royal yacht Dannebrog at Nordre Toldbod today to official begin their summer tour around in Denmark. A tradition that goes back many years. The couple "inherited" the tradition from Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik.

They take official residence in Kancellihuset at Fredensborg. Therefor, Dannebrog docked in Helsingør, where the royal couple were welcomed in the greatest way possible. King Frederik and Queen Mary will then be accompanying Queen Margrethe, whom has also taken residence at Fredensborg Castle.

This evening, the couple will be officially welcomed by citizens in Helsingør. This little 'welcoming ceremony' has been a tradition every single year to greet Queen Margrethe and late husband Prince Henrik when moving in at Fredensborg during summer time.

Queen Mary looked nothing less than absolutely stunning when boarding Dannebrog! The smashing Iris & Ink dress styled with a brand new belt, a custom-made ring from Dulong Fine Jewelry and beautiful navy blue leather pumps from Gianvito Rossi. Love her new headpiece created by Maggie Mowbray Millinery. Amazing details.
