06 May 2024

Arrival in Stockholm

Now they finally arrived in Sweden on board Dannebrog to attend their very first official state visit as King and Queen of Denmark. The visit will last from May 6th to May 7th.

The couple were warmly welcomed by King Carl Gustav and Queen Sonja, when they docked at Skeppbron. Crown Princess Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel also attended the welcome ceremony - also the official one at Kungliga Slottet afterwards. The royal couple enjoyed lunch at Kungliga Slottet after the the ceremony.

Later on, the couple met with the spokesperson of Riksdagen Andreas Norlén and the Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson. Last but not least, the King and Queen visited the Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan - Sweden's largest technical university with more than 13,000 students in engineering and technology.

What an outfit! Mary looked absolutely stunning when the couple arrived in Stockholm for their two days official state visit. She wore her wonderful bespoke Mark Kenly Domino Tan dress and a chic dark cape to keep warm. The beautiful new hat is from Jane Taylor. Later on, she changed from hat to hair comb - an Ellen Hunter design.

Looking closer we see diamond earrings from Bruun Rasmussen, bracelets from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen and Dulong Fine Jewelry. Her other jewellery are Halberstadt and Julie Sandlau. Mary also wore her beloved Connaught Sapphire brooch. A gift from her parents-in-law on occasion of the birth of Crown Prince Christian.

Clutch (Quidam) and shoes (Gianvito Rossi) perfectly matched.

Official gala dinner

King Carl Gustav and Queen Sonja hosted a prestiges gala dinner at Kungliga Slottet in Stockholm on occasion of the Danish King and Queen visiting Sweden.

Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel also attended the gala dinner, such as Prince Carl Philip and his wife Princess Sofia.

Both King Carl Gustav and King Frederik gave a speech before the dinner.

Queen of the night! Mary was indeed Queen of the night. She looked magical in her altered Jesper Høvring dress. Maybe you remember the golden skirt from 2017? At the gala dinner in Sweden, Mary wore the stunning skirt with another floral lace top. A creation by Jesper Høvring from Fall 2018.

Mary honored Queen Ingrid by wearing her famous and beloved Ruby Parure. The rubies are a wonderful match with the dress. Do you like the colorcombo? Even her box clutch matched in color. Dulong Fine Jewelry created the golden ruby ring in the same style as the parure.

We get a glimpse of her brand new beige satin pumps from Gianvito Rossi.

Change of guards at Fredensborg

03 May 2024

From now on, there will be a big change of guards parade every friday at Fredensborg due to the fact that the King (and Queen) is resident at Kancellihuset.

The royal couple officially took resident at Fredensborg yesterday on May 2nd, which makes this change of guards the very first. King Frederik was not able to attend the parade, so Queen Mary showed up instead.

The Queen is at top of her game these days when it comes to outfits. Just look at her. Simply wonderful. Love how she matched a simple light blue button-down shirt with a brand new a-line midi skirt. Plain and simple outfit, yet absolutely beautiful. She accessorized the outfit with brown suede Gianvito Rossi pumps and a yellow gold diamond ring from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.

Official boarding Dannebrog

02 May 2024

Boarding Dannebrog in Copenhagen

The King and Queen boarded the royal yacht Dannebrog at Nordre Toldbod today to official begin their summer tour around in Denmark. A tradition that goes back many years. The couple "inherited" the tradition from Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik.

They take official residence in Kancellihuset at Fredensborg. Therefor, Dannebrog docked in Helsingør, where the royal couple were welcomed in the greatest way possible. King Frederik and Queen Mary will then be accompanying Queen Margrethe, whom has also taken residence at Fredensborg Castle.

This evening, the couple will be officially welcomed by citizens in Helsingør. This little 'welcoming ceremony' has been a tradition every single year to greet Queen Margrethe and late husband Prince Henrik when moving in at Fredensborg during summer time.

Queen Mary looked nothing less than absolutely stunning when boarding Dannebrog! The smashing Iris & Ink dress styled with a brand new belt, a custom-made ring from Dulong Fine Jewelry and beautiful navy blue leather pumps from Gianvito Rossi. Love her new headpiece created by Maggie Mowbray Millinery. Amazing details.

Official welcome at Fredensborg

This evening, the couple will be officially welcomed by citizens in Helsingør. This little 'welcoming ceremony' has been a tradition every single year to greet Queen Margrethe and late husband Prince Henrik when moving in at Fredensborg during summer time.

Shortly before the little welcoming ceremony, the Queen was spotted outside Kancellihuset.

What a magnificent outfit she wore at the official welcome ceremony at Fredensborg. Polished and yet casual. Once again, she wore her white Harris Wharf London blazer matched with an old BOSS blouse and black Forte Forte trousers. We get a glimpse of her Etro belt and a Halberstadt necklace. The fine ring white pearl ring is a custom-made creation from Dulong Fine Jewelry. Look closer and you will see her wearing trendy Malone Souliers heels.

New official gala portraits

updated

25 April 2024

Following the change of throne in January, the first official gala portraits have now been published of King Frederik and Queen Mary! The portraits were taken in the Green Hall at Christiansborg Castle in Copenhagen.

The moment was captured by talented photographer Steen Evald. He is the master of some of my favourite portraits of the royal family - like the couple's wedding photos and those taken on occasion of their 5th anniversary in 2009. Huge fan of Evald's work.

Meeting with UNEP

18 March 2024

On Monday, Queen Mary hosted a meeting with Inger Andersen. She is the Director General of the United Nations Environmental Program. Also known as UNEP.

At the meeting, the Queen was given a status about this year's UN Environment Assembly, UNEA. Every two years UNEA brings together the world's environmental ministers in Nairobi in Kenya. The assembly took place in February.

Director General Inger Andersen also informed the Queen about UNEP's work in general. How they promote biodiversity and nature protection globally.

We only have a few photos from their meeting at Frederik VIII's Palace at Amalienborg, but just enough to tell what Mary was wearing.

She stunned in a reused black knitted blouse from CO and the most incredible tweed skirt from Alexander McQueen. I always loved tweed. Must be one of my favorite fabrics. Mary has worn the skirt quite a few times. My favorite outfit is from 2022 when she attended the opening of the exhibition "The Queen's Jewellery Box".

We also get a glimpse of her white pearl earrings. They are old ones custom-made by Dulong Fine Jewelry. Look closer and you'll see a magnificent golden bangle from Dulong Fine Jewelry as well.

Love that she is wearing her golden Cartier watch again. We haven't seen that in quite some time now. Missed it. What is your view of her outfit?

Medal of Honor dinner for the Armed Forces, the Air Force and the National Emergency Management Agency

11 March 2024

Monday evening, King Frederik and Queen Mary hosted the very special Medal of Honor dinner with attendance from the Armed Forces, the Air Force and the National Emergency Management Agency.

The prestiges dinner took place at Frederik VIII's Palace at Amalienborg. Queen Margrethe was also present at the dinner.

This is not their first Medal of Honor dinner, but it is indeed the first as hosts as King and Queen of Denmark.

The Medal of Honor dinner for the Armed Forced, the Air Force and the National Emergency Management Agency was founded by King Frederik IX in 1953. March 11 was his birthday. Originally, King Christian VII founded the first Medal of Honor dinner for the Navy in 1801.

Mary was first wearing the bespoke dress and jacket in 2019. It is the female of the Danish Defense's gala uniform. She wore it beautifully! Just like in 2021 and 2023. Love that women have got their very own uniform.

Her stunning hairstyle caught my eye. I adore it when she is wearing updo's like these. So elegant and romatic. Wish we had a better photo to see the details more clearly.

Mary accessorized the outfit with huge outstanding diamond earrings once purchased at an Bruun Rasmussen auction. She first wore them a couple of years ago. Since then, she has loved wearing them for a number of different occasions.

Her necklaces are from Halberstadt and Julie Sandlau. A closer look revealed diamond rings from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen surrounding a rather large diamond ring - which I have never been able to identify.

My guess is that she styled her look with black pumps.
