Crown Princess Mary was in a great mood when she arrived to Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen. She visited the hospital as patron of the Heart Association, as part of the presentation of the Heart Association- and Children's Heart Foundation's grants talking place later that same day. The Crown Princess was welcomed by, among others, the chairman of the Heart Association, Christian Hassager and the hospital director, Per Christiansen.

Later on she was introduced to studies that aim to improve and make adult heart surgery more gentle. Apparently that can be done by the use of oxygenation and organ protection during surgery. Crown Princess Mary was also given a demonstration on how surgeons are trained with help from a fake torso. She even tried it herself. I imagine it as both an interesting and informative visit.

After the visit at Rigshospitalet the Crown Princess drove to Hotel d'Angleterre where she was about to attend the presentation of the Heart Association- and Children's Heart Foundation's annual grants. A couple of so-called 'heart children' welcomed the Crown Princess. Heart Children are either born with a heart failure or are suffering from a cardiovascular disease. She also gave a speech before handing over the grants to Sofie Bay Simony, Lars Allan Larsen, Mina Nicole Händel, Anne Lagsted and Canan Doganli. THE ANNUAL HUBERTUS HUNT IN DYREHAVEN 2019

3rd November

For quiet some years now the Crown Princess and her children have attended the annual Hubertus Hunt in Dyrehaven surrounding the small hunting castle - the Eremitage Castle. This year she watched the hunt with her two children, Prince Christian and Princess Josephine. The three of them had, what looks like, a splendid day in the Danish autumn weather. They enjoyed the hunt from the balcony at the Eremitage Castle which gave them a great view of all the horses, riders and people who had come to Durehaven to follow the ride.

The Hubertus Hunt has, with only a few exceptions, been an annual event since 1900. Originally, dogs were suppose to hunt down foxes. Today the foxes are no longer hunted down by dogs and their riders. Instead two riders acts as foxes. On the hunt, the riders have to cope with more than 30 challenges throughout the 11 kilometers hunt.

This year Crown Princess handed over, for the first time, Crown Princess Mary's Prize of Honor. The Prize were given to the farstest riders on pony, Caroline Nielsen, and horse, Signe Kongebro. Prince Christian and Princess Josephine helped their mother handing over the two prizes. Originally the prize "belonged" to Queen Ingrid, then Prince Henrik handed over the prize in his own name and now Crown Princess Mary is the one to present the prize at the annual event in Dyrehaven.

Crown Princess Mary shared her own photos from the Hubertus Hunt with the children in focus, here.

FSR: DENMARK'S BEST CSR 2019

31st October

More than once the Crown Princess has attended this annual event. Also last year she attended the presentation of the FSR - Denmark's Best CSR, here. Think it is the fifth or sixth time Crown Princess Mary is attending the award show and presenting the awards.

Each year the organization, FSR (Danish auditors) hand over awards to companies that have managed to make a company that takes the most responsibility. That is why the award is given to companies who made an effort to work to become a more social responsible company.

This is what Crown Princess Mary is supporting by attending the award show at Børsen in Copenhagen each year. From stage she handed over two awards. As a 'large listed company' did A.P. Møller Mærsk receive the title as Denmark's Best CSR-report. Meanwhile Grundfos was given the award as 'large non-listed company'. Executive Vice President, Morten Engelstoft represented A.P. Møller Mærsk and Poul Due Jensen represented Grundfos. Both of them received the awards on stage and the moment were then captured with Crown Princess Mary. Congratulations to both companies with the prestiges award!

THE ANNUAL CHRISTMAS STAMP 2019 & AN A WORKSHOP

28th October

For years and years has Crown Princess Mary attended the annual presentation of the Christmas Seal Homes' Christmas Stamps. So did she this year. The Christmas stamp goes back 115 years in time and was created to gather money to the children staying at one of the Christmas Seal Homes in Denmark. There are five homes around the country.

At this years presentation the Crown Princess was accompanied by Count Ingolf of Rosenborg and his wife, Countess Sussie. The couple have for many years been committed to support the Christmas Seal Homes such as the Crown Princess. Seems like the three of them had a wonderful time along with Per O. Jørgensen. He is the artist who designed the Christmas Stamp.

It was as patron she attended the presentation of the very fine stamp showing children, gnomes (in Danish these little men are all 'nisser') and some animal gathered at one of the Christmas Seal Homes. The jewellery designer Mads Ziegler also created something very unique to support the good cause. He designed a necklaces shaped as angles. The necklaces are available in both gold and silver and a part of the money goes to the Christmas Seal Foundation, here.

After attending the presentation with children from Christmas Seal Homes, she participated a workshop with the Mary Foundation. It focuses on children and young people in Greenland that are growing up in a home of violence, sexual abuse, alcohol abuse and other social problems. The Executive Director of AmCham Denmark, Stephen Brugger and Senior Vice President, Angela Naef welcomed Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary when they arrived to Moltkes Palace. All four of them were in a splendid mood. Imagine three or four in a country abroad; arrive home after a long flight and then you have to bee well-dressed and good-looking? Well, I do not look this vivid after hours of travel. But the Crown Prince Couple does.

At the anniversary Crown Prince Frederik also presented the Foreign Company of the Year Award. He handed over the award to the American biotech company, Amgen. They work to combine science results, technologi and innovation and convert it to medicine to treat patients with serious diseases. Amgen wins because they are a foreign company that manages to invest in Denmark and for that has made itself noticeable in Danish business. Congratulations to Amgen with the award.
