THE OPENING OF THE PARLIAMENT 2019

1st October

As an annual tradition, the royal family were gathered at Christiansborg Castle to attend the opening of the Danish Parliament. Princess Benedikte arrived first followed by Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary. Last, Queen Margrethe arrived and were welcomed with smiles, handshakes and flowers (of course). Usually, Prince Joachim and his wife Princess Marie also participate but as you know they have moved to France and were not able to be part of the opening.

The first Tuesday of October the Parliament officially comes back from vacation. It is marked with the gathering of the Parliament and Government present. And of course with the Royal family attending. This year was a bit special because Denmarks newly selected Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen held her very first speech in Folketinget.

Both Princess Benedikte, the Crown Prince Couple and Queen Margrethe watched the opening from the balcony. It is located right of the rostrum.

THE SUPREME COURT SEATET AT CHRISTIANSBORG FOR 100 YEARS

30th September

Another great day at work. Crown Princess Mary attended as guest of honor the day where the Supreme Court celebrated its 100th anniversary being seated at Christiansborg Castle. Celebrating the anniversary took place at Thorvaldsens Museum - an art museum located in Copenhagen.

The Royal House writes on this occasions that Christianborg Castle has burned to the grown on two different occasions. It was rebuild for the second time in 1928. Nine years prior, the Danish Supreme Court inaugurated their headquarters in premises that were already completed. This is why the Supreme Court now celebrates its 100th anniversary seated at Christiansborg Castle.

All 18 judges of the Supreme Court and representatives from the legal, political and cultural part of the Danish public life where gathered at Thorvaldsens Museum to celebrate the big day along with the Crown Princess. Seems like she was in a really splendid mood. Especially at the arrival. A few pictures have also been published from inside the reception and Crown Princess Mary is in a great mood - all smiles.

CROWN PRINCESS MARY'S BRIDGE HAS OPENED

28th September

It was a very special day when Crown Princess Mary arrived to Frederikssund on Saturday. The Crown Princess was about to inaugurate a newly built bridge - her very own bridge. Or at least it is named after her. The bridge now connect the vest and north of Sjælland, and is crossing Roskilde Fjord.

The Crown Princess was in a splendid mood when arriving to Frederikssund. Despite the weather not showing the best of what we call Danish Fall weather, she was one big smile. We get why, right? How often do you get to open your very own bridge? Not often. Around 10,000 people had showed up to participate the inauguration. By participate, I mean literally participate. As part of the inauguration the 10,000 attendances would either walk or run a one mile, 5 kilometers or cross the bridge in a 10 kilometers walk or run. The Crown Princess chose to walk one mile - yes in 100mm heeled shoes.

Right from the beginning, people wanted her attention. All wanted a picture and a handshake, and that is what they got. Crown Princess Mary took plenty of time to talk with and meet many of the attendances.

HEALTHCARE DENMARK'S AMBASSADOR SUMMIT 2019

27th September

It was a proud and honored patron of Healthcare DENMARK who arrived to the Ambassador Summit 2019. The Crown Princess was in a splendid mood when she arrived. She was warmly welcomed by representatives from the organization. The summit took place at the Kennedy Centre in Glostrup.

Healthcare DENMARK is a non-profit-organization. They develops visit programs to foreign decision-makers and press delegations. The programs aim to show the Danish healthcare system and how its innovative solutions works.

As patron the Crown Princess entered the stage and gave a speech on the occasion of the summit. Her speech has only generated positive comments and it is fully understandable. She is strong with words She was also given a guided four around one of their laboratories. To me it seems like she was in her right element - listening, learning and sharing.
