Annual meeting with the Mary Foundation

Wednesday, May 8th

Crown Princess Mary hosted an annual meeting with all collaborators and partners of the Mary Foundation on Wednesday taking place at Frederik VIIIs Palace at Amalienborg. The meeting made room for discussing results and future plans for the foundation and its partners, here.

Among others the Crown Princess thanked the presidum for their support to combat social isolation. She pointed out that it all starts with a good conversations. Problems aren't solved within a moment; it takes time, but results shows that is matters. 


A Women Deliver event

Tuesday, May 7th

Crown Princess Mary arrived to Eigtved Pakhus in Copenhagen to attend a Danish-Canadian event on occasion of the Women Deliver Conference 2019. She was in a splendid mood at the arrival. One big smile. With handshakes and warm words the Crown Princess was welcomed.

Women Deliver is an international conference with focus on girls and women's rights and health. Crown Princess Mary has been patron for Women Deliver for four years now. She even hosted the conference when it took place in Copenhagen a few years back.

At the Danish-Canadian event in Copenhagen the Crown Princess quickly entered the stage in front of all the others attendances and gave a serious, but also funny speech. Among others she announced that the Women Deliver Conference 2019 is about to take place in Vancouver, Canada about a month from now. I am excited to follow and cover the conference with all of you.

UNFPA's State of World Population Report 2019

Monday, May 6th

On Monday Crown Princess Mary arrived to Gefion Gymnasium in Copenhagen to attend the presentation of UNPFA's State of World Population Report. She was warmly welcomed by Danish Minister of Development, Ulla Tørnæs and Rector, Birgitte Vedersø. With flowers, smiles and handshakes the Crown Princess arrived to Gefion Gymnasium.

The State of World Population Report is an annual occasion hosted by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). What makes the report notable, is its attention to focus on development and trends in the world population.

Crown Princess Mary has been involved in the work of the United Nations Population Fund for quite some years. She has attended the presentation of their State of World Population Report both in 2013, here, 2014, here, 2016, here and 2017, here. Her attending was a huge success. Both students and other attendances loved her.

Anniversary party at DTU

Friday, May 3rd

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary arrived to Lyngby to attend the anniversary party at DTU (Technical University of Denmark). The royal couple were warmly welcomed by Chairman of the Board, Per Falholt and Rector, Anders O. Bjarklev.

DTU is leading in developing and using science and technical science for the benefit of society. Every year the university hand over Julius Thomsens golden medal to honor and promote engineering research.

The Crown Prince Couple watched the presentation of this years winners and had the chance to congratulate all of them afterwards. Ib Chorkendorff was given Julius Thomsens golden medal. This Year's Students Startup was given to 'Paragit Sleeve' - a product that helps diagnose Parkinson's patients.

More than 1,400 students and employees attended the ceremony and following party.
