January, Thursday 31st

A day previous Crown Princess Mary visited Aarhus. She both payed a visit to the Volunteer House Trøjborg and was introduced to the initiative "Cases that Gathers', here. Later that evening she attended the official opening of the Cultural Year 2019 between South Korea and Denmark, here.

The following day she was invited to attend a meeting with Folketinget's cross-political network and the 2030-panel. The meeting took place in Dansk Arkitekturcenter BLOX, where more than 30 representatives were gathered to discus sustainable development. That is also what Folketinget's cross-political network for UN's Worldgoals aim to - to promote the UN's 17th Sustainable Development Goals.

Little has been told about the meeting. My guess is that a great discussion gathered all of them. After all they all participated the meeting with the some purpose: to find new solutions to secure the worlds future.

In the evening Crown Princess Mary was spotted attending the Rotate Birger Christensen show on occasion of Copenhagen Fashion Week, here. The Crown Princess was dressed in, what appears to be a brand new floral printed dress from Rotate Birger Christensen, a black coat, Dulong Fine Jewelry earrings and brand new purple suede boots.

Opening of the Cultural Year 2019 between South Korea & Denmark

January, Wednesday 30th

Earlier that day Crown Princess Mary visited the Volunteer House Trøjborg in Aarhus, here. On occasion of that she also payed a visit to "Cases that Gathers". Two volunteer initiatives.

In the evening Crown Princess Mary attended the official opening of the Cultural Year 2019 between South Korea and Denmark. She attended as both guest of honor and patron of the event. For more than 60 years, South Korea and Denmark have had diplomatic relations that are now celebrated with a common cultural year for the two countries. The arrangement is set to focus on both youth and innovation in the cultural exchange. That is what the Crown Princess has accepted to represent.

The opening took place at the Art Hall Aarhus. Here numerous representatives attended the opening along with Crown Princess Mary. The southkorean artist Kim Boem has an exhibition at Art Hall Aarhus, which the Crown Princess was shown with great interest and admiration. No doubt that everyone were in a good mood during the opening of the Cultural Year 2019 between South Korea and Denmark. Let the celebration begin.

On a visit in Aarhus

January, Wednesday 30th

Crown Princess Mary spend her day in Aarhus, all as patron of the European Voluntary Capital Aarhus in 2018.

First she visited the Volunteer House Trøjborg. The volunteer house is room to gathered people; where associations and clubs can hold meetings for free and unfold their activities. It is all about volunteer work and what it brings to the community. When the Crown Princess visited Trøjborg she attended the initiative "Play at the Nursing Home". Here parents on maternity leave and their children meet weekly with the nursing home residents. Nursing homes all across Denmark participated in the initiative. In Aarhus 10 nursing homes are part of the project. And what a lovely idea. Both parents, babies and the elderly who attended had a wonderful time sining and dancing. If you need a smile on your face then watch the video. I assure you; you can't help yourself from smiling.

Later in the afternoon the Crown Princess payed a visit to "Cases that Gathers", which is a community of citizens who try help each other to solve everyday problems. During her visit she was introduced to several everyday initiatives developed by the community. Some of them also attended the meeting and got the chance to tell the Crown Princess about "Cases that gathered". It was with great interest that she listened to everything she was told. To me she seemed overwhelmed and proud on their behalf of what they have been able to accomplish.
