'Danish Speakers' speaker prize & 'The Children's Day"

Tuesday, November 20th

A couple of days ago the Crown Prince Couple visited London to attend the big birthday celebration of Prince Charles' 70th birthday, here. Royals from both Denmark, Norway, Spain, Monaco, etc. were invited to Buckingham Palace to attend the celebration hosted by Queen Elizabeth.

On Tuesday Crown Princess Mary then showed up at a conference entitled 'Logograf 2018' in Copenhagen. 'Logograf 2018' is a conference for professional speechwriters. This years theme was speeches for special occasions. And it certainly was a more special conference than usual, because the Crown Princess received a prize herself this time. For years I have praised her speeches; how she perfectly manage to capture everything necessary within only one speech. She has been keynote speaker at numerous national- and international conferences. Finally she is rewarded for her speeches. Actually one very specific speech - the one given to her husband on occasion of his 50th birthday. Crown Princess Mary was given the 'Danish Speakers speaker prize'.

It was Danish politician Bertel Haarder, who handed over the prestiges prize to Crown Princess Mary. He was also the one to suggest her speech as possible winner of the prize. Let's congratulate the Crown Princess with her latest prize. I think she deserves it, because she is a great speaker and that speech she held on her husbands 50th birthday, was memorable.

Later, the Crown Princess attended another event with UNICEF Denmark. 'Children's Day' took place in UN City in Copenhagen. She was warmly welcomed at the arrived with smiles, handshakes and flowers by among others Minister of Development Cooperation, Ulla Tørnæs. The conference focused on 'Children in the World Goals'.

During the day Mary was dressed in a rather simple outfit to copy. She had chosen to wear a black turtleneck blouse and matching trousers. The trousers goes way back in time. They feature buttons on both sides. I once found a similar pair at a Danish designer, but not the exact same ones. Have you got an ID that missed me? Both trousers and that lovely tweed jacket have been seen before. It was when Mary attended the event 'Water Music' in 2017, here. Do you remember the jacket? Make me so happy when I saw that she was wearing it again.

Simple as that. Three piece of clothes and you got this incredible outfit that's great for the season. She embraced the style by wearing a pair of ankle boots. Heaven managed to find them at Gianvito Rossi with a little inspiration from me. They are made of some kind of stretch knitted fabric. Very fascinating. I recognized them from when she attended a musical in Tivoli with her children last month, here.

Two different bags; for two different events. At the speakers event she showed up with her black leather clutch from Quidam. Later she changed to wear a Docle & Gabbana tote bag. Both seen at many previous events. As jewellery we got pieces from Cartier, Dulong Fine Jewelry and Katerina Pitzner. What's not to love.

The celebration of Prince Charles

Wednesday, November 14th

First a visit to New York back in September, here, here, here. Then a three days promotion visit to Rome with her husband, here, here, here. And now London. Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary were invited to celebrate Prince Charles' 70 birthday at Buckingham Palace in London.  It was Queen Elizabeth who hosted the big birthday party for her son on his birthday.

Numerous royals were invited: Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex, Prince Albert of Monaco, Queen Rania of Jordan, King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway and the list goes on.

I have not been able to find that many pictures from the birthday celebration. Actually I only found two. Not much to tell what Mary was wearing, though I am able to tell something. Arriving to Buckingham Palace in London Mary flashed a new pair of earrings. Rather large ones. It looks like a mix and match of 'Lotus' and 'Winter Frost' from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen, herehere. Seems like I was right about the thing with Winter Frost. Charlotte Lynggaard confirms that herself, here. I also see her golden Cartier bangle and a diamond piece.

That was really all I had to go on at first. Then the royal family shared a photo of the Crown Prince Couple on Instagram and Facebook at the dinner. Crown Prince Frederik looked handsome in a classy blue and white outfit with a little bow tie. Next to him, Mary stunned in a brand new one-shoulder velvet gown from Jesper Høvring (collection: Autumn/Winter 2017). I knew about the designer. I just wanted it confirmed before sharing it with the rest of you. Polyvore Ready shares a picture of the model, here. Her gown features a matching belt with a golden detail - of course matched by her jewellery. I can't really say anything about the colour. It could be either black, dark green or blue. Personally I would say some kind of blue. Do you see a specific colour?

She embraced the outfit with a stunning makeup and a simple half updo. Really wanted to see if she wore a clutch and which shoes she had chosen to wear. But I doubt we get to see any more pictures.

Royal hunting in Gibskov

Tuesday, November 13th

The Crown Prince Couple had just arrived home from a three days official visit to Italy. The couple went of a business promotion trip along with 36 Danish companies in the capital of Italy, here, here, here. The following day both Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary stayed at Fredensborg Castle to attend a royal hunt in Gribskov. What had been hunted down during the day was showed off in the evening. That's where the Crown Prince couple showed up. Also Queen Margrethe attended the little ceremony. Queen Margrethe then hosted a prestiges dinner at Fredensborg Castle to celebrate the hunt. According to the royal family, the event itself was hosted by Crown Prince Frederik.

Staying outside in the evening this time a year in Denmark really takes a warm and cosy outfit. That is exactly what Mary did. When leaving their home at Amalienborg to go to Fredensborg Castle, she was dressed in a brand new tartan skirt and a black turtleneck. The new skirt is still bothering me. I don't even know where to begin. Does it remind you of a specific designer or have you seen anything similar? Somehow it reminds me of an old Prada dress. She kept warm in a new cape featuring golden buttons. Heaven managed to identify it as Stenströms. Apparently Princess Sofia of Sweden has the same one, here. Looks great how she belted the new cape. At the time Mary also flashed what I strongly believe is a quilted flap bag from Chanel. She embraced the outfit with black Prada boots and diamond jewellery from among others, Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen.

When the couple showed up at the ceremony at Fredensborg Castle later in the evening; Mary had changed a few things. Now she was wearing her wonderful Burberry coat and a bordeaux turtleneck blouse. Even the gloves matched her look with such perfection.

Photo exhibition #Childmothers

Monday, November 12th

From Rome in Italy, to Aarhus in Denmark. The Crown Prince Couple has just arrived home from a three days business visit in Italy, here, here, here. On Monday the Crown Princess traveled to Aarhus to attend the opening of a photo exhibition called '#Childmothers' and the launch of the State of World Population Rapport. Both events took place at DOKK1 in Aarhus.

Despite the cold weather she was warmly welcomed by students from Ellekærskolen and Frederiksbjerg School. Also Minister of Development Corporations, Ulla Tørnæs attended the event, along with representatives from UNFPA's Nordic office, the United Nations and a Councilman.

The exhibition is part of a bigger project. Previous exhibitions and a book by the same name are also part of the '#Childmothers' project. The Crown Princess shared a few words of her own in the book, in the preface. This exhibition shows portraits of girls living in among others Burkina Faso, Jordan and Haiti. Every single one of them became a mother in age between 12 and 15. Several speeches were given on stage. Crown Princess Mary gave her own speech.

As much as I have found out about the event, as little do I know about her clothes. Mary showed up in Aarhus wearing a brand new coat. It looks like tweed in both green, blue and purple. Difficult to tell what specific colour it is. Her new coat reminds me of something YDE Copenhagen would make. But I still do not know a thing about where it is from. Does it remind you of anything? She matched the new coat with a black turtleneck blouse and trousers in the same colour. Very flattering.

Mary embraced the style with a pair of black pumps or pointed boots. I have a hard time figuring out whether she is wearing pumps or boots. Could be both actually. Then I see diamond earrings and her golden bangle from Cartier; maybe even a diamond ring. Beautiful pieces of jewellery. And then that belt again. Kinda annoy me that I cannot find out where it is from. A very simple piece of accessory, but it work with both trousers and skirts, as well as dresses. In general, a great outfit for this time a year. Something you would wear?
