Day 2. Official state visit from France

August, Wednesday 29th

Yesterday the French Presidential couple arrived to Copenhagen. They are on official state visit in Denmark hosted by Queen Margrethe. The Presidential couple was first welcomed at Kastellet in Copenhagen by Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary. Actually the two couple's enjoyed most of the day in each others company. Crown Princess Mary and Mrs Marcon had lunch together and paid a visit to the Design School at Holmen in Copenhagen. Meanwhile the French President join Crown Prince Frederik for a boat trip and met with Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen - among other things. In the evening Queen Margrethe hosted a gala dinner at Christiansborg castle with several hundred invited guests from both France and Denmark. Read about their first day, here.

The state visit only last two days which mean Wednesday 29th is their last day in Denmark. In the morning the official farewell took place at Christian VIIs Palace at Amalienborg. Both Queen Margrethe and the Crown Prince couple attended. A unique tradition was once more included - the French Presidential couple wrote in a guestbook and signed a window. I do not know for sure who was the first to write their signature, but presidents and royals have signed each their own window which are then once again place somewhere at Amalienborg. Simply a wonderful tradition.

Crown Princess Mary and Mrs Macron then visited Rysensteen Gymnasium. Seems like the two of them get along very well. And the students were thrilled to welcomed both of them. The Crown Princess was in a great mood and took plenty of time talking to the stuents. An introduction was also given to the program 'Global Citizenship Programme' in which the school participate. Meanwhile Crown Prince Frederik and the French President visited Dansk Industri. Prime Minister, Lars Løkke Rasmussen also attended this visit. The visit made it possible for all of them to attend the business conference 'Transformning France: A Nordic Perspective'.

After having spend time on their own; the Crown Prince couple and the French Presidential couple were gathered once again. The reunion took place at Glyptoteket in Copenhagen. When visiting Glyptoteket they had the opportunity to attend a cultural event where numerous Danish artists also attended.

For one more day in company of Mrs Macron Mary had chosen to reuse one of her old blue creations. It has for a long time been suggested that Stella McCartney designed the blue dress. That was all wrong. The dreamy blue dress is from Vionnet. I learned about its identity from Heaven. She also shared with me that Princess Charlene has worn the same dress featuring a longer skirt, here. Mary first wore her dress at 'the European Emergency Medical Services 2017', here.

Once again we see her embrace the style by wearing that incredible brooch which I have never been able to find. Nor do I have ideas where to find it. The brooch features pastel pink and green colours and make a great match to the blue dress. Just as the white pearl earrings and a ring from Dulong Fine Jewelry does. Multiple bracelet were also worn. I have a hard time identifying each one of them, but I differently see her golden Cartier bangle.

As other accessories Mary had chosen a blue calfskin Quidam clutch and patent leather pumps in rose from Gianvito Rossi. I've always loved when she chose to wear darker and lighter colours at ones. She also stunned wearing some kind of red coloured nail polish. And that soft curly hairstyle blew me away. Absolutely wonderful. She has a certain glow that woman, right?

- Return reception -
As the French Presidential couple attended the Danish official farewell ceremony; the couple hosted a return reception at Skuespilhuset in Copenhagen. Both Queen Margrethe, the Crown Prince couple, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie, and Princess Benedikte were invited as guests of honor.

Little has been said and shown from the event at Skuespilhuset. From what I see all royals were warmly welcomed by the Presidential couple with smiles and handshakes. With sincere words the French President thanked the Queen and her family for their hospitality in his speech at the reception. All this took place in the afternoon before the presidential couple left Denmark later that day.

For the afternoon event Mary wore a brand new printed dress. Actually the print is flower petals - beautiful right? Somehow I can't stop myself from loving the fact that Queen Margrethe's dress and Mary's look very much alike. Mary's new dress has been identified by Heaven as Giambattista Valli (the name I always trouble to write and remember). This incredible creation features long sleeves, a wait band and mid-length skirt. I imagine the dress worn at so many different occasions in the future with all kinds of accessories. Maybe yellow pumps? Another belt? Its print makes me wanna try something similar.

At the reception in Skuespilhuset Mary wore simple, yet stunning accessories, to top off her look. Among other things she wore brand new black pumps as well. They feature little golden studs. Once again Heaven got the answer where to find these new pumps. She manage to find them at Gianvito Rossi. Kinda edgy next to the feminine dress. I have been told that Mrs Macron is very fond of Louis Vuitton. So I imagine that she loved Mary's box clutch, because that is from Louis Vuitton. It goes years back in time, but has only been worn a couple of times.

Day 1. Official state visit from France

August, Tuesday 28th

For four days we enjoyed an official visit to the Faroe Islands along with the entire Crown Prince family. We followed each step and enjoyed each one of them. It was a pleasure sharing all this with you. The visit was something we had been looking forward to in a very long time. Suddenly it was all over. Fortunately we did not have to wait long for another exciting event. Because on August 28th the Queen hosted an official state visit from France.

The French Presidential couple arrived to Copenhagen airport in the morning on Tuesday 28th. They were warmly welcomed by the Crown Prince couple at Kastellet in Copenhagen. Both couple's showed their respect to missing and/or lost soldiers with a wreath. Following the Presidential couple was officially welcomed by Queen Margrethe at Amalienborg. The Crown Prince couple, Prince Joachim, Princess Marie and Princess Benedikte did also attend the welcoming ceremony.

Mrs Macron was then invited to attend a lunch with the Crown Princess at Frederik VIIIs Palace at Amalienborg. The two of them met earlier in 2017 to discuss equality in Denmark and a future meeting was settled. Once again the topic about equality was brought up. On this occasion the Crown Princess had specially invited four other guests to attend the lunch - four guest with the purpose to enlighten about equality issues, a status and - challenges.

Crown Princess Mary and Mrs Macron also had the pleasure to join each other for yet another visit. The two of them visited the Design School at Holmen in Copenhagen. They were given a guided tour around the facilities, was introduced to the school and their work. Especially sustainability and sustainable fashion solution are something the schools students work with in their everday's.

Meanwhile the French President met with Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen, visited the Royal Library and the Black Diamond. He also joined Crown Prince Frederik for a boat trip in Copenhagen Harbor.

Apparently the Crown Princess had a meeting with Amina Mohammed, UN Deputy Secretary General on Tuesday as well, here. Amina Mohammed is former special advisor to Ban Ki-moon. UN's 17 world goals - in particular goal number five about equality, was discussed during the meeting that took place at Amalienborg in Copenhagen. The conversation between was also focused on women-and girls rights and opportunities.

Mary was shining like a red rose when welcoming the French Presidential couple at Kastellet in Copenhagen. Somehow I expected something completely else. That is what make Mary and her style so exciting - you never know what she is going to wear. She had chosen a bright red dress from Raquel Diniz. I learned about the dress from Heaven who also told me that Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway dazzled in the exact same dress in 2017, here. Do you like the dress? I do. Much indeed.

The Danish Crown Princess was not the only one embracing a red outfit. Mrs Macron shone wearing a matching red dress and coat. Meanwhile Princess Marie wore a red long-sleeved red blouse and a black skirt.

She accessorized her new Raquel Diniz dress with diamond earrings from Ole Lynggaard worn a several other occasion. The same goes with the beautiful leaf Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen brooch. Her two golden bracelets are from Cartier and Dulong Fine Jewelry. As shoes she had chosen an old pair of python pumps from Gianvito Rossi. Incredible match to the red dress, right? Another interesting accessory is the brand new bright red clutch bag. I had a Danish designer in mind when Kate share her finding with me. She managed to identify Mary's new clutch bag as LIN8. I am simply in love with this creation.

With a magnificent hairstyle, beautiful makeup and red nail polish, she managed to amaze me deeply. Mary really knows how to make a great impression.

- Gala dinner -
With Queen Margrethe as host of this official state visit from the French Presidential couple, she also hosted a gala dinner in the evening. Guests from both Danish and French public were invited to attend the dinner, which took place in the Banquet Hall at Christiansborg castle in Copenhagen. The arrival and part of the dinner was broadcasted live on Danish television. I watched only the arrival but it was an incredible sight. Princess Benedikte arrived first from the royal family, followed by Prince Joachim and Princess Marie, then the Crown Prince couple and Queen Margrethe. The French Presidential couple arrived last. Especially the arrival of the Crown Prince couple amazed me. It always look so gracious.

All guests were then greeted with a handshake and the evening was about to begin. As host the Queen gave a welcoming speech which can be watched down below. The French President followed her with his own speech. Dinner was then serviced. I imagine it being a wonderful evening for all attending the event.

By the commentators many blue dresses were predicted. That is why I hoped for anything else than a blue dress for Mary or any of the other Danish royal women. And we got... no blue gowns at all. Queen Margrethe stunned in a purple gown featuring black lace. Princess Marie wore what I think is a brand new gown with a wide neckline and little train. I hear that her tiara is new and presumably a gift from her husband on occasion of their 10th anniversary. Princess Benedikte impressed in a lovely dusty pink floral evening gown.

What's then about Mary? As the only royal woman wearing white, she showed up in a reused Lasse Spangenberg Copenhagen evening gown. Yet with few altercations. A black piece of fabric has been added across her right shoulder. It then works as a short train. I will leave the commenting about this alterting to you. Mary wore this floral gown at the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Mary Foundation, here.

She embraced the evening outfit with a black Sergio Rossi box clutch and black pumps from Gianvito Rossi. Other than this I see her wearing the incredible ruby parure inherited from Queen Ingrid. She wore both tiara, earrings, bracelet and a single hairpiece. If any of you manage to find a picture of her hairstyle, please share it with me. I would really like to get a better look of her stunning hairstyle.

Day 4. Official visit to the Faroe Islands

August, Sunday 26th

For four days we have enjoyed the Faroe Islands along the Crown Prince couple and their four children. For four days they have spread joy wherever they have been with their visit. This visit was announced months ago and I know for a fact that many of you have been looking forward to it with great pleasure - so have I. It was simply great to arrived home from vacation, to enjoy a state visit with the royal family.

Now it is all over. I only have one day left to report about. That is of course the fourth day; on August 26th.

The family arrived all at once to Sandavági to attend a church service at 10:30 am. Both Prince Christian, Princess Isabella and their two younger siblings Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine joined their parents on one last job before leaving the islands. I imagine it being a pleasent experience for all of them. The Crown Princess even shared some of her memories caught on camera with us,  here. The service was hosted by Bishop, Jógvan Fríðriksson who welcomed the royal family at the arrival. They were all dressed in red, green, blue and black national costumes.

Bishop, Jógvan Fríðriksson also hosted lunch with Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary as guests of honor. The lunch took place after the service in Bøur. Attending lunch was the very last event for the Crown Prince couple on the Faroe Islands.

Day 3. Official visit to the Faroe Islands

August, Saturday 25th

- Arrival -
On August 23rd the Crown Prince couple arrived to Tórshavn on the Faroe Islands. The couple are joined by their four children on this official visit. The whole family stay at Dannebrog during the visit. The family has already visited several towns and met lots of people.

On the third day the family arrived to Runavík where they were warmly welcomed - despite the rather cold weather. At the harbor of Bakkafrost they were officially welcomed by Mayor, Torbjørn Jacobsen and his wife Mrs Ann Ellefsen. Once again the family arrived to be greeted with everything it takes. Attendances had arrived early to get a glimpse of the Crown Prince couple and children. Many of them even got the chance to shake hands with one or more of the royal visitors.

In Bakkafrost, among other things, they visited a salmon farming business. Followed by a visit to the local sports hall 'Bylgjan'. All this took place before Mayor, Torbjørn Jacobsen hosted lunch.

Despite cold weather the family really seemed to enjoy themselves while visiting Runavík and surrounding areas. Think it is a true and delighted pleasure for the Crown Prince couple to share this experience with their children. And the children seems to enjoyed it just as much. Especially Prince Christian makes everything an experience. He looks positively delighted to be around people and meet anyone - seems like the most natural thing for him. On his behalf I am glad this part of this public life comes easy.

Once again the whole family arrived wearing each their national costume. Crown Prince Frederik was given his costume back in the days and Mary got hers in 2005 on her first visit to the Faroe Islands. Her costume comes with a apron and scarf og dark green wool featuring a Marguerite pattern. It is matched with a knitted sweater and custom-made silver pieces. On occasion of this visit the children also received each a costume from different municipalities.

Other than her red, green and black national costume Mary dazzled wearing a pair of diamond earrings which could be Hartmann's and a couple a diamond rings from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Not much had changed from the previous days on the Faroe Islands. What had changed the most is her hairstyle. Arriving to Tórshavn she amazed the world with a beautiful updo. The next day a half updo and today she embraced the style with a simply ponytail.

- Tjørnuvík -
Without children the Crown Prince couple visited Tjørnuvík. They arrived by boat. Here they were welcomed by Mayor, Heðin Zachariasen, who subsequently presented the city council of Sunda municipality. Lot of attendances had arrived to greet and shake hands with the couple who took plenty of time meeting as many as possible. What a sight.

While visiting Tjørnuvík the Crown Princess went for a walk. On this walk she went by the local church and visited 'Kunsterboligen'. While spending time on her own she also met up with a couple of surfers with whom she had a great talk. I bet she had a lot of questions and comments to make about the beautiful surroundings. Many pictures have already been share from her visit among the surfers, hereMeanwhile her husband visited the rock 'Stakkurin'. He shared with us these pictures, here. Incredible nature, right? A memorable day that wasn't over just yet. The couple still had a reception to host and for the Crown Prince to hand over the trophy to the winning team in football. This he eventually attended with his oldest son Prince Christian - though it was not made official in advance.

Mary had changed for something a bit more warm when visiting Tjørnuvík. Earlier in the morning she amazed the attendances wearing her national costumes. So were the rest of the family. But at Tjørnuvík it obviously takes something more warm and cosy. Therefor she had chosen a black knitted sweater featuring golden buttons. With help her new sweater has finally been identified. The designer is Baum und Pferdgarten (not Tara Jarmon as first assumed).

She matched this sweater with skinny jeans and dark grey coat. A suggestion was given that her new coat could be from Aigle. I probably managed to make a request. One of you came ahead of a reply - the coat is not an Aigle design, but from a store called Søstjernen (in English 'starfish'). On occasion of Mary wearing their creation, they shared a post on Instagram, here. Kate shared a funny information with me - that Princess Isabella has worn the same coat as her mother did on August 25th. Princess Isabella wore hers at 'the Hubertus Hunt' last year, here. Mary accessorized her chic outfit with flat ankle boots, diamond earrings (which could be from Hartmann's) and furry wrist warmers.

A pretty and easy outfit to copy during fall. Even with the hairstyle and makeup; she makes it easy for us to seal the style. Nevertheless I still do not know where half of what she wore are from. All ideas are welcomed.

- Reception -
After a long day with lots of people to meet and places to be, the day wasn't over just yet. Because Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary hosted a reception on board Dannebrog on occasion of their visit to the Faroe Islands. The guest list is quite long. It included prominent people as the Mayor of Tórshavn Annika Olsen, artists Edward Fuglø, State Finance Minister Kristina Háfoss, Deputy Mayor of Sunda Municipality Thordis Dahl Hansen, ... and many more. They had all been invited to join the couple (and their children) for an evening on board the royal yacht.

At the arrival, all guests were welcomed (one by one) by the Crown Prince couple and all four children. Then small meals were served and enjoyed while standing. Small talk spread across the deck.

No proper reception without a dance. Hand in hand with their guests; the royal family danced a traditional chain dance. It was simply a lovely sight.

Oh wauw! I rarely use exclamation marks but this time I do. Somehow I have missed these reception outfits of hers. During the entire trip we have not seen anything like this - almost only her wearing her national costume. As host of yesterday's reception Mary looked stunning in one of her reused Vilshenko dressed. A beautiful embroidered dress with long sleeves and midi length skirt. At first I did not realize that this was the dress she was wearing. She tricked me. We have in fact seen her wear the dress at a previous event - a christening in Aalborg earlier this year, here. At the time I fell in love with it right away. I sort of did again.

At the reception Mary embraced the style by wearing pendant earrings. Differently new. There is also a couple of bracelets I can not identify. But the shoes I can - they are from Gianvito Rossi. Other than this I only have one last thing to comment: her hairstyle. Gosh, I love her hairstyle at the reception. What an incredible updo. Just look at the way it is made. To me it is almost a work of art.If you manage to find a close-up then please share it with me.
