It is unusual that they participate in each other's events without its being published in advance. But this time was an exception because Frederik accompanied his wife when she as patron of Danish Swimming Federation (Dansk Svømmeunion) the Olympic qualification tournament "Danish Open" at swimming stadium in Bellahøj. Actually it came as a surprise to everyone that Frederik accompanied Mary. I was so exited when I found out that both of them were attending. I always enjoy watching them attending events together. They arrived in the afternoon, both in a great mood ready to follow greet the team of swimmers before the couple found their seats with a good view. Despite it was a official visit, all acted like it was more or less a private visit. Usually photographers and journalists go crazy. Not this time. It was all calm. The tournament  helped to find the most skilled swimmer to participate the Olympic Games in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. The royal couple closely followed everything that was going on in the swimming stadium, especially were Frederik and Mary excited to followed Pernille Blume when she won her way to the Olympic Games such as swimmer Jeanette Ottesen. According to several media, they both told how much they look forward to followed the games, which Frederik will attend as member the International Olympic Committee shortened to ICO.

Mary was dressed so casual at her and Frederik's attendance in Bellhøj on Friday afternoon. A friend and I talked about, a while ago, about official events where Mary is wearing jeans which really not happened often the 12 years she has been Crown Princess. It can probably be counted on two hands. I think it's because jeans is a little too casual for her attendances, then I love to see her wear them at this event. Jeans is something most of us have -light, dark, wide, slim jeans- and because Mary is such an source of inspiration, we now know how to wear jeans like Mary would do it. She just looks great in a pair of jeans! She matched them with a new, black and white, striped blouse very likely to be from Ralp Lauren (Blue Label) found by Kate. When I searched for more photos, I came across Katescloset and it seems like Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, has the exact same blouse. Jeans and a striped blouse is a great combo, especially with the navy Massimo Dutti reversible coat. It surprised me to see her wear these new suede boots. I haven't been able to identify them but they surprises me anyway because I see such boots in a completely other style then hers. I think I see some earrings which could be her diamond studs from Hartmann's. Like earlier the same day when she attended the opening of the new social-and health school, her hairstyle was really simply and youthful. Was it an outfit you would wear?

  1. The Crown Princess more often than not wears boot cut jeans; however, this pair is somewhat different as the flair starts at the calf. In addition, the rest of the jeans is the most close fitting that I am yet to see her wear. Having said that, there are so many options that one could choose in styling jeans. Mary chose to give it a bit more formal styling, in my opinion, by choosing long vs short coat and then opting to keep it casual with her choice of the blouse / tee and low-heel neutral color boots.

    1. You say something; these jeans actually look different to those we are use to, maybe a little 70s vibe? Still, I think they look great on her. The way to "hug" her legs looks beautiful. This is just one way to style jeans but with the striped blouse and suede boots, you always have a winner-outfit ;)
